My teams

The Poulter Falter (in full effect yesterday)
Mickelson
Yang
Poulter
Watney
Donald
McDowell

1st Reserve - Weir (always felt he should have been in the starting VI but couldn't convince myself to evict one of the others) A solid start for a team in a cash league

Oggy, Oggy, Oggy - Choi, Choi, Choi - (despite the name, no KJ in the team  )
Woods
Kuchar
Bill Haas
F. Molinari
Casey
S. Hansen

1st Reserve - John Merrick

This team would look pretty good if I'd taken Westwood over Casey

The Friendly Golfer - (or not so friendly when you see the bloody team  )
Flesch - yes thats right, Steve at tied 22nd is best placed of these 6
Schwartzel
Goosen
Tim Clark
Kaymer
Furyk

1st Reserve - No-one in the field

Kaymer needs to return to the European Tour pdq.

So, a poor start, no Westwood but I did at least take out McIlroy for Goosen in the TFG team  I wonder how crucial those points will become

Oakridge Rider
Woods
Mickelson
Els
E Molinari
Immelman
Flesh

Lister
Mickelson
Casey
Harrington
Els
Goosen
Flesh

TLove and Matt Green,

Can one of you stats experts work out a good "layoff" formula?

I currently have $100 to win $1100 on Phil... My website doesn't allow you to layoff bets. I know if I cover the rest of the guys, I can assure myself of winning.

I sprinkled cover bets on Westwood, Choi, and Mahan... How should I approach this going into Sunday? My guess is a few hundred on Lee?

An easy solution would be to find a betting website that does allow you to lay...or does this not exist in America?! Can American residents not access Betfair?

Barring that, it's all about doing the math - taking into account which players you think are realistic opposition to Mickelson and how much you're prepared to forfeit from a Mickelson victory...

Thanks Mr Green...

I imagine Tglover is buying Phil as we speak...

I've bought the following:

$300 worth of Lee
$200 worth of Tiger
$240 worth of Choi
$1000 worth of Mahan
$110 worth of Poulter
$150 worth of Quality Kim

Cost me about $300 to create this "insurance"

(so I've forfeited enough to cover any potential losses)

Now the best I can hope for is $800 profit on Phil :o

Much smaller sums involved for me Kdub

A Westwood top 5 will get me my stake money back on the Masters, a Westwood win or a Yang top 5 will make me happy :D

Simple, no need to mess around! Haven't got the time in other words!

OK Anelka...

Hope you're not messing with me.

$500 cover on Yang
$100 on Barnes
$40 on Couples

My only real fear is that Lee or Tiger win... Which is why I decided to lay off in the first place.

Don't quite understand that last bit - you should be winning almost more on Mahan - aren't these figures your overall profit? Would still take yang and Barnes for a few quid each just in case - thought you were a Yang fan as well - or maybe you already have him?

The reason why you need to get yourself onto betfair is that you will still be losing quite a considerable percentage to the bookies by doing it this way.

For all the Betfair queries out there...

They don't accept American or Hong Kong addresses.

Cant even log on the site when I'm working in China.

He hates Augusta with a passion, and I think he would really like to decline an invitation to play there, but I think the consequences of him doing that would be too far reaching to risk.

Looked like a very small twig, to me. It landed during his backswing on the putt

Tiger seems to have recovered his hook off the tee. Can't be often he's been two in a bunker either I would imagine.

Woods has never learnt how to chase a lead in a Major has he ? Couples and Choi and even Poulter are showing him you have to be patient, trust the guys ahead of you will be conservative and play sensible Golf.

He is just way too aggressive with every shot.

Very impressed with Westwood bouncing back after bogeys twice today with birdies.

& then, a miracle shot from Tiger from 150ish yards for Eagle on the Par 4 7th, puts him back in the race.

Westwood in trouble off the Tee though, another hook off the tee.

Must have been watching Scott from earlier - Tiger took a shorter route though. :D

Westwood turns his shoulders very early in his downswing, and I am not convinced his swing will stand up to it.

PM is looking solid with his 3 wood off the tee.

Woods is still the only one over par in the top 10.

Choi and Couples are closing in.......

Couples to -10.

If Watney can post -9, it could put some pressure on, but the back 9 has been set up for a birdie fest..
