Its a PB course (has some hills but the last 3 miles has a downhill profile so you can rocket home). Ran a PB there 2 years ago.

Did my 5km row today, but had half an eye on my distance at 15minutes - 3,511m. Found myself going a bit faster than normal to break the 3,500m. Paid for it after that but still managed the 5km in 21m 13s :D

5km run - 37m 02s

Didn't have time to go on the bike as the Mrs was texting domestic chores whilst I was on the treadmill

(I was a bit eff really so I wasnt put out too much  )

Still I reckon my times are moving in the right direction and the Mrs has also just told me that 'you have piled on the beef lately' :o so I think I should make a bit of an effort to keep going with the cardio workouts. :|

*

Reading this post back, I realise Mrs Hotpot doesn't come across too well, so as punishment I will refrain from sexual activity (with Mrs Hotpot :P ) for the forseeable, just to show her who's boss! :|

Now, lets fire up the George Foreman, its Burgers for tea

Just treat me a little like a pace maker in a horse race. I am glad you rowed a good 5k time and that I was instrumental in that :D

I'll be adding a treadmill challenge to my thread by the end of the week, as that's my next mission.

(feel free to add your rowing time to said thread, in the same section as here).

5km run - 36m 56s
10km bike - 19m 51s

total - 78m 44s :)

I might even have another go tomorrow! :o

Yes, have another go tomorrow. You know what they say - what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

I am building myself up to your challenge (albeit slowly but surely).

Ran 2 miles on the TM tonight in a smidgen over 21 minutes. (but didn't do the cycling or rowing part of it).

It was never going to be easy trying this after a 3 week eating/drinking binge over the holidays :|

A couple of mini sessions last week and then this to ease back in -

5km row - 22m 52s
5km run - 39m 50s (more walking than running to be honest :D )
10km bike - 20m 17s

total - 82m 59s :|

Was never going to test my PBs but at least its one on the board :D

Right, I am going to do a mini Hotpot challenge tonight. I am basically going to complete all three of your disciplines, but half the distances.

(Gym equipment availability depending).

Half-a-Hotpot Challenge

Row 2.5km = 12:19
Run 2.5km = 16:51
Cycle 5km = 12:17

Total = 41:27

Clearly not as fit as you young man, but can't remember how our BMI compares ;-)

I'm not fit :(

I'm not young :(

But I am a man. 1 out of 3 ain't bad :D

BMI? No idea :P

I'm 6ft 3in, and depending on which set of scales I get on 16st 9lb - 17st 3lb :|

I prefer the scales that read 16st 9lb, though I am quite proud to have 'broken' the 17st barrier

*

Today -

Row 22m 18s
Run 39m 43s
Bike 19m 38s
Total 81m 39s :|

What have I done to myself over Christmas? I can barely run (jog) for 3 minutes before I need to start walking :?

:|

Finally got round to doing this and, man alive!, it's a proper workout. Still, my ipod saw me through...

On to the scores on the doors. I thought I'd tackle the easiest part first - the 5km run

22m00s (standard)

Then to the hardest part in hindsight - the 5km row. One leg got pins and needles towards the end :?

21m43s (happy with that)

Finally, the 10km cycle, which was not as bad as I had feared.

22m23s (happy with that too)

Total:
66m06s

I will not be rushing back to do it again

Would love to give this a go, but can't be stripping off my muscles in gorey gymathons like this.

Longer slow (to medium pace) distance cardio at a low(ish) intensity increases Cortisol levels, which is a stress hormone that tells the body to hang on to body fat, and over a longer period, break down muscle tissue. :(

Nice times though sobd. :D :D :D

I don't think bashing will improve his time too much, maybe shave a millisecond off or two.

Bump :D

I've been hitting the gym in the last couple of months and I reckon I might be able to give my PB a go at this soon. Just looked back at this thread to see my PB of 73m 11s was set in Feb 2010 :o

I've had a few failed to complete attempts recently (the running kills me) but today posted this -

Row 21m 14s
Run 35m 16s
Bike 19m 13s

Total 75m 43s :D

I haven't had any alcohol for 3 weeks but I'm on a Leo Sayer on Feb 4 so I'll be giving this an all out effort on 2/3 Feb.

:D

Ah, I was thinking

Leo Sayer = Bender = then wasn't sure whether it was an all day session or if you knew Leo intimately
