I'll not challenge anyone for anything in the real world of fantasy footy, however I still have a shot at my SL. I'm currently in 2nd of 23.

1st: 814pts 56(goals) / 2nd: 803 42 / 3rd: 781 41 / 4th: 754 39 / 5th: 721 42

My team - Hart
Richards / Jones / Walker
VdV / Silva / Bale / Murphy / Mata
Suarez / Aguero
803pts / +0.6 bank / 16 transfers left  (bad starting lineup)

On the face of it, no real conundrum, eh?
suarez  RvP
or go 3-4-3 with
VdV  Ade / Sturridge / Ba

However 1st has - Krul
Richards / Enrique / Riise
Silva / Bale / Toure / Dempsey
RvP / Ade / Aguero

(top team public now - SL 'feature' where if you add a team after wk 1 - 30/9 you 'show n tell' til 31/12. My team isn't public.)

So the conundrum is - the most logical move is to make my team almost identical to my rival, when I'm already behind :?.

Do I go with the suggested and hope my Hart, Jones & Walker outpoint his lot? Probably will but not by much. Midfield when Yaya goes to ACN, most likely is for him to change to Mata. His Dempsey is likely to outpoint my Murphy. And the strikers will be getting the same points.

Is it better to replace logic with it's slightly more uncouth cousin - cunning  ?

I need some tips/hints in the more jedi-esque arts of TFF. I've seen stuff about '3 to 1' and think I get the concept. Is this tactic mainly used in striker rotation? A look at Bramernic's fixture grid and I see Spurs 3-1 over Chelsea (2 Jan - 14 Jan) but am only looking at top 7 teams.

I do see some opportunities to maximise striker appearences but obviously at the cost of transfers. Man U play 31Dec, sub out for ManC on 1&4 Jan, sub out for Newcastle 4&7 Jan and so on - big transfer burn out, high risk but maximum striker time on the park. Is this tactic the 'daisy chain' mentioned a few weeks ago? - I do hope so or at work the internet police are likely to pay me a visit

From previous years in our SL most players figure out the consistent, regular points scorers by the third quarter of the season. All the teams score pretty much the same each week cos they've all got the same players and we trundle to the end with the points 'spread' as it was weeks before.

I'm hoping to get a jump on this before it all gets a bit samey - I'd appreciate any views, hints, etc.

Isn't Ba off to the ANC?

Of the options I would just do the RvP one, and then bring in Sturrridge after the Spurs games in hand. Or go Suarez to Adebayor, and then swap vdV or Bale for RvP, who is likely to miss a few games soon...

After a couple of hard games. Avoid.

I wouldn't worry about how similar or different you are to the leader. 38 points is nothing with the time left and, for now, you just want what you think is the best team (with tinkering caveats). You'll vary from his a lot between now and May.

And your main challenger in May will probably be someone else anyway....

only 16 transfers left? I would agree, do the RVP move and then sit very tight 8-)
