Winner 2010/11 - The Woolster
So what do you have to do ? Do what you want ! but all teams have to be public so everyone can see each others teams. In order that people have good reasons to be shite and lose they can enter a team with restrictions like no top 4 players, a block defence approach etc but it's up to you how you structure your team. The Woolster won last year despite having a restriction of always having at least 3 enablers, of course he was jammy as there were so many good enablers. I went for not being able to have any 4m or higher priced defenders which was fairly penal.
History and Background of FISO X1s from the Woolster"Well, this is getting interesting with all these restrictions! I would suggest that if you do have a restriction, that it not be so penal that it can't do well.
My other suggestion is that we become a bit more 'open' than we have been these last few seasons. The open XI league was started when a number of us used to have our own threads for a team that we would discuss our thought processes, plans and how the team was performing. Most of us would then go regularly to the other open team threads to discuss their teams and even make suggestions. After a couple of seasons we decided to see who did the best over the season in the main FISO super league, but still with our own threads. The natural progression was of course to start our own league, and then Hoppy was kind enough to donate the trophy.
Whilst I do think it is good to have the added competition, I feel we have lost some of the openness we used to have, as the thread is just used to post transfers and there is no discussion about our plans or about the other teams. My suggestion is to have our own threads (not compulsory), and that we actually try to discuss other peoples teams and even perhaps help them out. When we all had our own threads, some would be many pages long, have thousands of views, and were some of the best threads on FISO, and people would read and discuss even if they didn't have an open thread themselves. The only people who read our SL thread are those of us who are in it, so I think we are missing out on outsiders views as well.
Of course we would all like to win it, but I think it would be great to get some of the open spirit we used to have."
Last year we had 10 teams see table below , basically you post your thoughts and transfers into this league, it's not too challenging, just a bit of fun and banter, and is free to play.
