I dont think its fair that Jonathan should have to rule on this, what about a poll, we are a democracy after all :D

Would you be fair on your judgement FLB or will you carry some of your previous experiences in consideration??

I am pissed off with myself for not covering this more in the rules, but, as I originally said, if I were looking at the rules again without this situation having occurred, I would count the WC as a single transfer. I chose not to take into account points lost through transfers, which, I feel, is enough to make people want to tweak their teams around with an eye on side comps if they wish, although I really don't believe that happens for this particular comp.

OK... think of it the other way. What if after 2 GWs one team had made no transfers at all and the other had used none the first week and the WC the next... Does Jonathan's new decision to make the WC count as 1 transfer regardless mean that team 2 gets knocked out?

It should count as zero imho.

Dixie, yes, it means team 2 gets knocked out, because team 1 made zero transfers and team 2 made effectively 1 transfer. Lovely_Camel made 1 transfer in GW 4 and one transfer in GW5. vinny made 1 transfer (WC) in GW4 and 1 transfer in GW5.

No. I have messed up, vinny, by not foreseeing this happening. Nobody will come out of it feeling too good, especially me, but I have given the honest opinion on how I would approach the rules given a second chance. I appreciate you taking it how you have - although you must be fed up about it.

Thanks both, and especially vinny for taking my decision so graciously. I was papping myself when I logged on! It is only a game, after all! If it makes anyone feel any better, a couple of GWs ago I was top of every league I have joined, including FISO. This week I was 1,038,818th overall for the GW! Needless to say, I am no longer top in any league - and I have also gone out in Round 2 of the cup!

It is excellent, but don't forget its the Fiso equivalent of the Carling Cup, the main cup starts later, the group stage sorts out the men from the boys

At least you're not alone Jonathan. I ballsed up the Wimbledon comp the same way.

Just wish I knew how I've got on in this. Was ahead after the first leg but I'm playing an unknown so I've no idea what they've scored this week.

Tables posted on first page..... Sorry vinny :? At least you are still smiling! We had two ties that needed settling on a tiebreak ruling. The second was a little more straightforward and saw Locomotiv Croydon, managed by CarlosTheFinger, sail into Round 3 courtesy of making 1 less transfer (and no Wildcard ) than Scabby Sods FC... sorry fergusg. :(

Cheers for the update Jonathan.

I did my bit and knocked one of the unknowns out, comfortably through in the end. Look forward to round three. 8-)

Woohoo - through again :)

Being fortunate with the draw a bit though - managing again to be against someone doing worse than me - which is a feat in itself :(

The epic battle between the Robots in Disguise and Team Dragon has come to an end! And now the age old question of who would win in a fight, Robots or Dragons, finally has an answer: ROBOTS!!! :D :D

The dragons took a small early lead from the 1st leg, but the robots had more left in the tank, and stormed to victory in the 2nd leg, with an aggregate score of 109-86, thanks mainly to the PADrobot that is Fabregas!

Commiserations to badgeman, and bring on the 3rd round!
