THE FISO LEAGUE FPL KNOCKOUT CUP 2007
Brought to you by Jonathan and RomynPG :)

Image

CURRENT HOLDERS: Westie
RUNNERS UP: lucan jerry

Here we go then. With the GW1 qualifying round complete, we now have the full complement of 256 teams ready to contest the knockout competition this year. As last year, each round will be a two legged affair, with the team scoring most points over the two legs progressing to the next round. Complicated eh?

The first round starts for the coming Gameweek 2, which I am sure you all know has its deadline tomorrow evening!

The complete Gameweek rounds are as follows:
Round 1 Gameweeks 2 & 3
Round 2 Gameweeks 4 & 5
Round 3 Gameweeks 6 & 7 (Madeira here I come!)
Round 4 Gameweeks 8 & 9
Last 16 Gameweeks 10 & 11
Quarter Finals Gameweeks 12 & 13
Semi-Finals Gameweeks 14 & 15
Final Gameweeks 16 & 17

Competition Rules
The team with the most points scored over the two legs progresses to the next round. Points lost through multiple transfers WILL NOT be taken into account. So, carry out as many transfers as you wish, however….

… if scores are level after the round then the following criteria will be used to determine the winner of the tie:

1. Transfers. A team with the LEAST number of total transfers made across both GWs of the tie, will progress to the next round.
2. Goals. If transfers can’t separate the two, then the team that scores the most number of GOALS across both GWs of the tie, will proceed to the next round.
3. Bench. If by some horrible quirk of fate the teams are still level then the team whose BENCH scores the most number of points across both GWs, will progress to the next round.
4. Toss. If scores are still level at this point, the lovely Mrs Riddle will toss me, errr, a coin, with the team name that comes first alphabetically being Heads.

I hope this is all clear. For a full and comprehensive list that matches FISO Names with their teams in The Elite take a look HERE! Thanks Spencer4!

Good luck all (sorry Karrde)!

Jonathan

Pick yourself and your opponent out, and study their form HERE! Thanks Spencer4! You may now post... thanks all!

Current holders Westie (Team Marsh) face the intriguely named De Weasel Has Landed managed by somebody not known to me, diesel weasel.

Last seasons beaten finalists Lucan Tigers, managed by lucanjerry have been drawn against bionika's Reid or Deid.

I've drawn a gooner!
"Good luck" Mike. This week should be interesting minus your 3 gooners and 2 Blackburn.

Sorry about that Digsbsy. Sometimes it is a toss up between just posting the ties as plain text or jazzing up a bit as screenshots. At least somebody told you the good or bad news, anyway!

Thanks for that Flyman. You know you are always welcome to grab my cups any time!

No problems mate. I think the effort put in by people such as yourselves to make these side comps more exciting is always worth while. It's just a pity the fire brigade computer system is so poop.

At least I wasn't facing my opponent this week

Krispdafunk 39 vs Chris Emmerson 52
ImageImage

Both made a single transfer and its farely safe to assume he's replaced one of Geremi/Bouma/Bentley/RVP or the non starting Jagielka. His biggest threat is SWP while my key differential is the Yak away at Wigan.

Selection dilemma left closer to the time is whether to chance my full Chelsea block again plus Howard vs Gordon. Despite their heroics against Spurs, I'm pretty convinced Brum will get the upper hand on Weds ... not that I'm trying to lead you

Excellent stuff as always Jonathan :D

Nasty draw. I got rid of Larsson this week, hope that doesnt haunt me since you have him. If i dont take a big lead into next week im done for, you have a lot of money sitting on the bench this week by the looks of it.

Up against ianthegirth. :?

Never heard of you mate, but since you opted for a three man block Liverpool defence, had the Rooney disaster visited on you also, have unplaying Kavanagh(SU) and Jones (DC) and injured Niemi & Baines in there too, I really will be gutted if I don't win the first leg.

Then again, going on my luck this week, it isn't definite.

Fraid so! Sorry. Not only runner up in this, but he progressed to the Quarter Finals of the other Champions League based cup competition I also run (after Christmas). Now, let me see, who did he lose to in that particular cup Quarter Final... oh yes... it was ME!!!

Thanks for posting here bionika... the banter is what keeps it interesting.

Nice draw Jonathan, seems I've got a south-west derby with Monkey Magic.

Only one point between us in GW1 - we've both got Ronaldo and Lampard and have the same 2 EV defenders, but he has 2 MU and CH defenders compared to my one of each.

Going to be a very tight one, good luck MM. :D

J you will be pleased to know that i decided not to take an 8 point hit after all :P

I may still take a 4.

Edit: sod it, i will leave it as is. Rooney getting injured has messed my plans up. Imot going to field 11 tonight and unless Everton keep a clean sheet then i sunk anyway.

I know my Everton lads will all get 120 points each, the thing is on any given day they arent certain scorers. So its all about when they get their points... not built for cup matches  no sense throwing 8 points away.

Tevez hattrick, Everton clean sheet. COME THE SMEG ON!!!! 8-)

Lazy so and so, this is why we have the fiso league list thread

karrde........................A Smoked Cheese Pig.......Daniel Thursfield..........UK...PV...Stokies

I wanted to use my transfer to ditch a missing GW2 player but because of Rooney I couldnt. And with Miller not seemingly in favour after all, I may be 9 men tonight.

ah well.

(edit, ahhh I see. Does this mean all the links on that page are worthless? you have to go through one of the mini leagues and click on the team again :? )
