THE FISO LEAGUE FPL KNOCKOUT CUP 2007
Brought to you by Jonathan and RomynPG :)

PLEASE NOTE THE TIE-BREAK AMENDMENT TO RULE NUMBER 1

Image

CURRENT HOLDERS: Westie
RUNNERS UP: lucan jerry

Remaining Gameweek rounds are as follows:
Last 16 Gameweeks 10 & 11
Quarter Finals Gameweeks 12 & 13
Semi-Finals Gameweeks 14 & 15
Final Gameweeks 16 & 17

PLEASE NOTE THE TIE-BREAK AMENDMENT TO RULE NUMBER 1

Competition Rules
The team with the most points scored over the two legs progresses to the next round. Points lost through multiple transfers WILL NOT be taken into account. So, carry out as many transfers as you wish, however….

… if scores are level after the round then the following criteria will be used to determine the winner of the tie:

1. Transfers. A team with the LEAST number of total transfers made across both GWs of the tie, will progress to the next round. PLEASE NOTE: A Gameweek where the Wildcard is played will count as a single transfer.
2. Goals. If transfers can’t separate the two, then the team that scores the most number of GOALS across both GWs of the tie, will proceed to the next round.
3. Bench. If by some horrible quirk of fate the teams are still level then the team whose BENCH scores the most number of points across both GWs, will progress to the next round.
4. Toss. If scores are still level at this point, the lovely Mrs Riddle will toss me, errr, a coin, with the team name that comes first alphabetically being Heads.

I hope this is all clear. For a full and comprehensive list that matches FISO Names with their teams in The Elite take a look HERE! Thanks Spencer4!

Jonathan

Here we go then - the nitty gritty end of the FPL KNOCKOUT CUP. We lost some big names in Round 4 - but a lot still remain - and one pesky FISO Unknown! No pressure dalythgoe, but you need to continue your big scoring to make sure we have an "Unknown's-free" QUARTER FINALS round! (no, I didn't fix the draw!)

The two biggest scorers from the last round (Lythgoe's Disciples and Mr Bigstuff) avoided each other this time around, and the lowest scoring team from Round 4 (Martlets Albion - albionjulie) have a tough draw against the Flying Penguins - RandomGuy

I wish you all the very best after this annoying GW break! At least the international break doesn't fall mid-round. Anyone would think I had planned it that way!

Best of luck, Barry! Lots hanging on this GW since our 5AS H2H teams are up against each other too - you're playing my captain Cooke_je, who I knocked out of this one in the last round - might explain why I've been forced to stay on at training in the rain for hours after the others have gone home...

I was still paying attention Jonathan! :)

I think there's only 1 point in my tie after the first leg...

I know bionika. I am sure those still involved are keeping an eye out, so I apologise for the delay this week. Those pesky GW breaks just make me lose all momentum!

No worries. I do appreciate the time you have to put in.

To be fair, there's that many side games on offer that I can't keep up with them all, and as a result, I only play / show an interest in the ones where I just get thrown into them by virtue of being a FISO member.

Which in my opinion, is pretty fookin' sweet! 8-)

Better late than never, 1st leg scores for the Last 16 have been posted earlier in the thread.

As already pointed out, it is touch and dalythgoe (geddit?) as to whether we can finally guarantee a FISO unknown won't be winning the competition overall - 10pts is nuffink for Lythgoe's Disciples! The whole of the FISO community (apart from the unknowns, who won't know about it anyway, because they are unknowns!) will be cheering you on! :)

Top scorer of the 1st leg was Mr Bigstuff, managed by Hairybear, who continue to do exceptionally well in the competition overall, and are current leaders of THE FISO LEAGUE - so a tough opposition for anybody - and obvious favourites to go the whole way in this cup competition. But, all is not lost for Little Toerags - anything can happen! In fact, after a relatively low scoring week, all ties are far from over, and bigger deficits have been turned around already this season.

Good luck all - so near, yet so far!

May your captains be with you!

Jonathan

After a poor first leg, I'm sending my Disciples to Delia's for a bit of a morale boosting:
COME ON! LET'S BE HAVING YOU!

and if I can manage it- a bit of free scran :D

Too true...

One example:

If they're a relation- they can never find their own things, but if you ask them to look for something of yours, after spending hours and hours searching futiley, THEY FIND IT INSTANTLY! HOW? WHY? :?

Results for the Last 16 are in, with the table updated earlier in the thread. None of the 1st Leg leads were overturned, but some great efforts we made. Little Toerags put up an excellent fight in the second leg, but failed by an agonising 6pts. Hard luck McLombardo :(, well done Hairybear. :)

Unfortunately, dalythgoe couldn't turn around the tie against the only remaining FISO Unknown, so it is still possible we could end up with an "unfortunate" overall winner

Pete Tabs and Motorhead top-scored with a stonking 124pts, so reds363 can concentrate on his Divisional Championship updates for now!

Closest tie was BLOUFO's single point victory over FC Bruno's Scythes (80 v 79). Well done to Thierryless XI's, hard luck FC Bruno.

Draw will follow tomorrow.

Unlucky Reds363 - caught me on a good week.

Lamps (c) and Samba did me a couple of favours.
