As at this morning there are 520 teams in the FISO FPL league. This will need to be whittled down to 512. An automatic place in the cup will be given to those who have have registered a username on FISO which we can link to a team.

If you have not posted your details you can do so on the following thread. This also helps the admin of the game as well as pretty much guaranteeing a ball in the bag.

Joining the FISO league

If you are unsure of the mechanics of adding your team name as a link to the web page please see Spencer4's excellent how-to-guide at the top of page 1.

There will be a preliminary qualifying round (GWs 1 & 2) which will allow the "unknown" FISOers to battle for the remaining places to fill the 512 1st round proper spots.

In the unlikely event that more than 512 known FISOers appear there will have to be further qualifying criteria - but we will cross that bridge...

As the cup will have started by GW1 you will need to be in the league by Saturdays gameweek deadline to be in the bag (deadline to be confirmed with Romyn).

Assuming there are not more than 511 others in the same boat yes (and I would bet that this is the case) - even if there are more than 512 in total (known fisoers) your destiny will still be in your hands as there will just be a qualifying round in GW1.

If you add your details to main Fiso thread which you can click through above not only will you be almost certainly in but you will ultra popular from an game admin point of view

Pre-qualifying

We (Ach who am I kidding), RomynPG has trawled the FISO FPL side game threads to produce a list of FPL teams without a known FISOer at the helm. These teams will battle it out for a chance to enter the first round proper. Known teams will gain an automatic place. Approximately 33 of these teams will join approximately 479 known teams in the 1st round proper. There will be exactly 512 teams in the 1st round.

If you recognise yourself please say hello, although it is too late to avoid pre-qualifying. If you have introduced yourself but we have not picked it up please let us know.

Pre qualifying will take place over GW1 & GW2 and the cup proper will start in GW 3. Full launch to follow once the qualifiers are known.

Whether any of these are allowed to auto-qualify is down to the generosity of Knulpuk, I tried my best to identify where I could but some don't make it easy and aren't necessarily side-game orientated. I'm sure Knulpuk would prefer people who had at least looked at his game threads

Joined FISO league around GW10 last year - been fairly active - but doesn.t have a www/fpl button - can't find a link to his team in his posts and he hasn't posted on the who-are-you


There is a FISOer called Pink_elephantz so he's a likely candidate - fairly active - joined League mid way through last year - no www/fpl button - no post in Who-are-you - and his profile says he finished 26th in FPL in 0708 whereas the one I'm looking at finished 782th - so maybe that's what confused me

As for Merlin's Apprentice (Merlins_Apprentice) he doesn't seem to come to FPL that much and I don't get out much so our paths have never crossed and he's never posted in the Who-are-you either so he was an easy one to miss.


As I say it's up to Knulpuk - no bother to me either way - but maybe if they just said they wanted in then that might sway him (or at the least confirm they are who we now think they are)

What we have tried to do this year is give everyone a chance to make themselves known as the more involved the particpiants then hopefully the better the banter - the more enjoyable the game.

Romyn has trawled every FPL side game particpiant list to come up with a pretty comprehensive list.

I think it would be unfair to just allow in Pink elephantz and Merlin's Apprentice just because their teams names are synonomous with their FISO's ID's.That said they are active FISOers.

The compromise is therefore - if anyone on the unknown list makes themselves know to myself or Romyn by the end of qualifying (end of GW2) - then they are automatically in. If they don't then presumably they are not aware of the comp / not interested.

Should that take us >512 (v unlikely) then we reserve the right to put these late entries back through the qualifying round to get to the magic number.
