It's back! it wants to be better but it needs you.

Its your chance to get your hands on the most prized of FISO crowns

Ok so i've still not sent the trophy out  anyway.....

The decathlon will be run once this year but an earlier start will mean no event overlap (a good thing)

Thanks to recent sidegame admin development brought about (by RomynPG and others) this years event, like last years, will be open to all...however as this event does require a little input from athletes on and irregular basis i would suggest those not commited do not sign up

This is not a sign up thread

I'd like to make improve the game further this year, the technical side can take of its self. I'll tinker with the formulas to get more realistic time lengths and heights etc.

Its also going to be the same 10 events so if you want to more run your own.

Other than that i'm open to ideas regarding the individual & and team comps, the way the high jump & pole vault work, the guest athletes and all other aspects - also if anyone is into graphics and esp. animation and would like to throw some ideas at it let me know.

Or if you just want to whoop and cheer cos its back, feel free!

Anyone new to fpl and the decathlon might want to look here
Development - Sign up - It’s nearly here - Current/Main thread - Final round up
let me know

1. Keep the scoreboard
2. Don't change this winning formula
3. Maybe incorporate impaling in the javelin where 2 people get the same pre-specified GW score. Better still if the impaled is a long jumper

I suggest tweaking the events where it was possible to foul since i felt it was all too easy to foul out totally. Was that yellow cards?

I liked the idea of setting the height of the bar in the pole vault according to how high you felt you could score, i thought that was really good. Did we do that in the high jump too? I cant remember.

Are you changing the rule regarding ignoring transfer penalties this year?

The fouling for various events was set at number or yellows, think it was three, we looked at 4 but barely anyone fouled. maybe the last jump could be a 4 card fould the first teo a three card foul

the high jump and pole vault both worked in the same set the your score pre GW way.

obvoiusly the rule about transfer points only effect events where whole team score is taken - nobodys going to just start going for GW scores are they (i know some were doing this last year), does it make that much diff?

I did it last year (mainly as we were chasing the 5AS head to head title). It was pretty rare i was not finishing outside the top 100,000 each week, the reason that didnt correlate to decathlon victory was mainly that bloody foul rule.

I think its a shame that anyone should lose out based on some yellow cards, maybe an increase in the final jump would be a happy compromise.

I enjoyed the game, dont get me wrong, these are suggestions not criticisms.

Can we move the bar down this year?

Gameweeks do vary, and I'm sure if we put it down to subsidence and wore blue, the Italian judge wouldn't disagree

erm....rather than string you all on down this road, I doubt i'm going to be able (arsed to) to run this game this season (i'm failing to run the rumble for crying out loud).

been getting a bit bored of FPL aswell these last few months to be honest, im not going to stop playing it due to local bragging rights.

Anyway. apologies about this just thought i'd take my hat out of the ring, if anyone wants to run it please feel free, I'll help get them going in any way i can, I'd even recommend it to anyone looking to im prove their Excel skills/data managment bits and bobs. RomynPG helped set up a fantastic system last year, a bit of application and the admin ins't that bad(i'll even send out the trophy(i promise(no really(ok maybe you're right)))).

sorry about this.. i just don't want to let anyone down....again

Honesty is the best policy, I suppose. Shame, but understandable - it was a superb looking game, and great while it lasted.
