Exactly big businesses could not give a &*&* about pettry squabbles between countries, they will trade with whoever and whatever no matter the country stance on said country.

Its all about profit and loss. If European countries can get goods cheaper in the UK they will buy from the UK regardless of whether the country they are based in feelings to towards the UK.

The British empire ended years ago, only right that the UK splits up towards the end of said empire.
Wales/Scotland/Cornwall were all separate countries to begin with, why should we be ruled from London by English MP's?

Each needs the money from the English tax payer.

England could repay the billions it stole from Scotland for the North Sea oil.

And the billions in slate and coal from Wales.

Britain is the world's fifth largest trading nation. Machinery and transport, manufactured goods and chemicals and steel are Britain's largest export earners. The UK's pharmaceuticals industry is the world's third largest exporter of medicines. Britain is also a major supplier of plastics, cars, films, music, aerospace products, alcohol, electrical and electronic equipment such as chips in ipods, military equipment, food products and clothes. Britain is responsible for 10 per cent of the world's export of services, including banking, insurance, stockbroking, consultancy and computer programming.

Our financial services industry, mainly based in the City of London, is responsible for 10% of our GDP and 11% of taxation receipts. That's why, even though we all despise bankers and the money they make, the Govt must do everything it can to maintain the City's importance as a world financial centre.

I voted for the third option: remain in the EU but absolutely no political interference. Otherwise we should leave it. The eurozone as it stands is doomed, it's only a matter of time before it breaks up. This will have a devastating effect on the economies of EU nations, especially those in the eurozone and those with the most exposure to PIIGS debt, so it's important we play our cards carefully and suffer the least collateral damage as possible.

Now there was me thinking that Cambridge was in England, some of the most advanced research anywhere at mo comes from there, our problem is not R&D but turning it into products, rather than at mo others doing it.
It is now a much smaller world in a lot of ways and no matter how would like us to be on our own, real world insists thats no longer an option, its how we work together have a problem with, working towards a Federal Europe will be a disaster.

Cambridge centre of the most advanced research anywhere at the moment?

Microsoft moved some of RD units there, do you use an i-pod fair chunk of what gets sent up in space is from there, really not sure if you are a wind up merchant or truly as daft as a brush

As someone born and bred in Cambridge,I am extremely proud of the place.
I would not expect an idiot like Achiles to have heard of companies like ARM Holdings and Autonomy, but there's no doubt they are right at the cutting edge.
