Welcome to another year of unique Egg Cup FF !

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY

Rules and guides

1. Your starting X1 is Alan Smith's XI, which is shown in rule 5 below . You can change to any of the formations available as long as you comply with Rule 2 beneath.

2. You must make at least one and no more than two changes to this team by midnight on Friday 12th August 2011 to allow me and the other league chairman enough time to check that all teams are in order for the start of the season on the 13th August. Invalid teams may have to be excluded or a transfer penalty imposed (making an enforced transfer) so please pay special care to getting your team correct, it is after all very easy. The Smith team will be frozen at midnight Wednesday 10th August (any changes he makes after this date will not count).

3. Please enter your team in the super league as soon as possible. You do not need to have made your changes at this stage - only to have entered a team. I will distribute, as will the other league chairman, the league name and password by PM to all the players.

4. Tables will be posted as and when available and at least weekly, chairman please ensure this happens but anyone can do it (usually the leaders are quick to  ).

5. Post your starting team in the following way and use this as a template for any transfers you make during the competition (below is an example of how you could report your first two season transfers):-

De Gea
Luiz
Clichy  example transfer Huth
Vermaelen  example transfer Shawcross
Hangeland
Young
Bale
Valencia
Toure
Hernandez
Suarez

Transfers Left:- 28
Value of Team:- xx.xm

Reasons for Transfers :-
Blah Blah Blah

Note if people want to keep a record of their transfers as they go along please list these under the main template, keep the main template clean for the current transfers you are doing.

6. The egg competition is an open, friendly and fun competition. If everyone posts transfers as they should on a timely basis (same day or before next scheduled kick off) then there will be no problems, everything will run smoothly. If you feel it will not be possible to do this then please think about whether this competition is for you as it is very frustrating for others who do comply to see others not. This year, only those that comply will be allowed to play in the leagues the following year, I will set up another league where non conformers can play and earn their right to play in the leagues proper in the future.

7. Following the start of the season manage your team in the normal way.

8. The leagues will be open so that everyone can see everyone else's teams so make sure you make your team PUBLIC when you create it.

9. Your team name must include your FISO name to help identify yourself then be creative !

10. Each league contains 12 players and there will be a 3 up, 3 down promotion and relegation at the end of the season.

11. The winner of each league wins a bespoke egg cup and most importantly inclusion with the infamous Hall of Fame here eggcup-hall-of-fame-post-thelip-t83872.html.

12. There will be a cup competition which runs automatically alongside the league competition. I will announce the weeks for the cup competition and the draws in a separate thread so keep an eye out!

13. If there is a tie for any position the winner will be decided by the Telegraph rules ie goals scored etc

14. Finally, will the players below please confirm their place, I will highlight below those that have entered the SL.

Above all, enjoy yourselves, have a bit of banter and may the best man or woman win.

1 Happyhoppy Chairman, 3 x winner and Defending Champion 8-)
2 The Ledge - Runner up
3 Beerfuelledman - Final podium place
4 Neath boy - Best of the rest
5 Murf - Living in the past
6 Jester

Wake me up at the end of July. The path to my 4th Eggcup starts then and not before.

Like the team names, BFM is particularly good 8-) . Pressure is on the rest to beat that.

I have marked those that have entered on the 1st post.

Anyone else not really know where to start with this? Alan Smiths team is pretty good. YY Toure isn't a big points scorer in my head but he actually is. Clichy may not be first choice. But then he may. Will Valencia play ahead of Nani? etc...

I'll be booting you oot way before then......

BFM - Yep, it almost feels like we have cheated to get such a good starting X1. I can see a few not using any transfers once the season starts for a while. In a way it's a shame as the challenge was always what the hell to do with his minging team.

I have changed rule 2 to freeze Smith's team (the starting X1) 2 days earlier at midnight Wednesday 10th August 2011 (rather than midnight on Friday 12th the day before the season starts).

This should make things easier for the chairman as Saturday morning is likely to be a bit busy !

Looking forward to kicking off. Already got my transfers picked barring any injuries or significant transfers. Shall probably spend a more-than-healthy amount of time looking at TFF when on holiday next week!
