In the meantime I'm more than happy to take the brunt (at least I haven't got him!) of the p1ss taking - at least Carroll finally got of the mark. I'm positioned perfectly for my post christmas blitz!

3 transfers today

Al-Habsi  Hart
Sagna  Lescott
Huth
Bosingwa
Albrighton  Kompany
Osman
Silva
Downing
O'Hara
Suarez
Aguero

Al-Habsi has had a great start but his fixtures now look tougher so bringing Joe Hart looks a no-brainer - should be season long
Sagna has a broken leg, funds are their so City defender it is. Went for Lescott as he has goalscoring potential and is arguably not as big an injury risk as Micah Richards.
Albrighton can't get a game at Villa, even when they dropped N'Zogbia so he has to go, switched to 442 and now have 3/5ths of a City block with the steady, reliable Kompany

Transfers left 26
Cash left £0.3M

Three more transfers-

Johnson  Mertesacker - is a another gamble (none of which have paid of so far, but have to make up some points somehow), but hoping that when Verm returns the Arsenal back line tighten up, plus he's a goal threat
Taarabt  Bale - lost patience with Taraabt
Carroll  Adebayor - lost patience with Carroll!

So XI now looks like

Howard
Ferdinand
Bosingwa
Smalling
Mertesacker
Lampard
Bale
Jarvis
Eagles
van Persie
Adebayor

22 Transfers left, £0.8M in the bank.

Osman  VDV

Downing  Cabaye

On the 27/10 I switched out Bosingwa following his red card the previous weekend & prior to conceding 5 the weekend just gone & brought in Micah Richards in part to further bolster my Man City block.

On the 29/10 I went trigger happy & ditched the following Kompany (red card and free up funds elsewhere), Osman (better value enablers around), Downing (just not racking up the points expected - I think he will have a purple patch at some point, just got fed up of waiting for it to start), Huth (not first choice at Stoke) & O'Hara (scored twice in a week, probably won't score again until 2012 now)

In came Kyle Walker (Spurs looking more solid at the back, assists, the odd goal & cheaper than chips), Danny Simpson (not sure how long the Toon express can keep rolling but again he's dirt cheap), VDV (with pennies freed up & Rafael VDV finding his shooting boots it looks a no-brainer to get him in), Cabaye (bit of a gamble this one, and not one I'm wholly convinced by from a FF perspective - fingers crossed) & Adebayor (the switch back to 433, should've gone with Demba Ba though

Highest scoring goalkeeper is the undrafted Michel Vorm with 63 points, the 26th highest scoring player in the game. Highlighting the folly of drafting a goalkeeper in round 1.

Still 4 players without a point - Fabregas & Gyan, who won't be scoring alongside Rafael & Wilshere who should at some stage.

I know this is ridiculously early days considering we have over a third of the season to go, but the pre season draft was so enjoyable last time that I'm already looking forward to it next season!

I was wondering what my fellow league member's and esteemed chairman's thoughts were on the transfer embargo at the start of the season, specifically its length - personally I'd be open to it being extended from 1st of Sept to maybe 1st Oct, to add additional pressure to the draft and the season's final outcome?

Just a thought that I couldn't wait until post May to share!

And please bare (or bear, not sure?!) in mind this is coming from a man whose 11/12 draft was so poor that I missed out on the super 20's, my goalkeeper has the scored as many goal's as one of my strikers and I still have a player who hasn't been transferred abroad but is yet to score a single point. Pretty impressive I think you'll agree!

Again, forgive me if this is premature, I'm off to knock up my draft priorities list.......

As the proud owner of the second worst starting x11 I'm definitely up for this again. And I'm open to a longer transfer ban!

I've had an idea for a different system once the season has begun...

For me, the best part of this league is obviously the draft. So why not extend the draft system for the season.

You could have mini drafts every month made up of the undrafted players. No player can be in more than 1 team at any one time. The drafts could be monthly and would probably only need to be 3-4 rounds long.
You can only transfer players that you've drafted in, however we could allow that drafted player to be transferred in at any point during the game month. (Note: They must be transferred before the next draft). The player transferred out is then eligible to be drafted during the following month's draft.
Draft order is based on league position, with last place getting 1st pick and the top team the last.

Obviously these teams would stand no chance of winning anything, but that's not the point.

Would anybody be interested in a league like this? I'd be happy to run it as a separate competition if people want both formats.
