According to auntie Tevez stripped of captaincy in favour of better Kompany

Interesting that the normally reliable Guardian sees Dzeko miss out today

No wasnt having a pop just directing to you what could be interesting site in the coming weeks determining line-ups and sources.

The Tevez captaincy is mentioned in both papers too fwiw. The BBC is imo a useless source of info, gossip and startling facts, regarding sporting exclusives..

I always move from the "they must know something we don't" to the "they are talking from their behinds" camps. Either way never any smoke without fire so good to compare....

Truth is, as with most news stories, none of them know for certain. There's a degree of guesswork involved and sometimes they guess right, sometimes they don't!

I've never found the Guardian to be that accurate tbh and it's a pain clicking separate links for each game (for lazy chaps like me!). I'll stick to making my own guesses from bits and pieces I happen to notice during the week - and remain reasonably unsuccessful no doubt!!

Fair comment, but don't tell me you actually make transfers based on line-ups predicted 24hrs or more before a game? I bet most people are like me, scratching around for snippets of information but still waiting for confirmed line-ups before pressing the transfer button!

I dont make transfers on predicted line-ups.

I'm doing my tedious WEEKEND DREAM TEAMS and i like the Sun's coverage on the football so i'm looking for any exclusives to gain an edge.

I do my transfers on all info i glean and then decipher what i think is shite and whats worth noting then come to my own decision.

I'm just laughing all the time when one or two posters come out of the closet saying all this holy I DONT READ THE SUN and you shouldn't, supporting Liverpool.

I bet even today more people read the Sun in Liverpool than care to admit it.

Christ move on the Newspaper editor is history from Hillsborough and The Sun have apologised.

There's no getting away from the fact their Racing pullout and goals sections are excellent. I even think their predicted line-ups is probably the weakest part of the football coverage as it's probably just one persons take rather than all the individual match analysis contained in the goals pullout. Still happy to stick it up against all other papers and reckon they will get more right than the others so we will see over the coming weeks.

My personal take on Nasri for instance is he WILL start today, which is the opposite of what the Sun reckons. :?

Looks like we do pretty much the same thing then, as do most I suggest.

I've no issue with the Sun btw, and if it's predicted line-ups come out on top it might even gain another reader - once a week anyway!

I shall watch this thread with interest! :D

Regardless of my personal views I have a few areas blocked on here to reduce the reading. Fpl because of the wright of duplication you have to wade through and the sun because I don't play/ the weight of posts there too.

When there are dedicated sections in the forum for specific topics e.g team news I find it annoying that I loose valuable snippets by not wading through both those sub forums. Simple answer is for me to read everything I suppose. A more selfish answer would be for people to post useful info here too

Admin does pop up from time to time to encourage people to put generic news threads in this forum (or discussion threads in to Football Talk), and generally encourage people to use the rest of FISO. And the mods will try and move a few glaringly obvious generic threads here when time allows.

Unfortunately the Sun and FPL forums have become victims of their own success and people tend to stay in there own little world, with what you could call a ghetto attitude. And, as a result of that, some people deliberately avoid those forums. It can become a bit of a divide and I think it's healthier for the forum as a whole if we try and avoid the ghetto attitude.
