For anyone out their in FISOland that has to submit a Tax Return and hasn't done so already, you have a week left.

This year the rules have changed and you will incure a £100 penalty if the return is submitted late, regardless of yor tax position.

In previous years, the penalty would have been reduced to a) nil if a refund was due or b) the actual tax payable, if this was less than a £100. This has now gone, so please get your return in on time. I wouldn't want anyone to get caught out by this.

PS If you have to complete a return, make it as accurate as possible. HMRC have gone nuts in recent months making enquiries into returns. A sure sign the Treasury's coffers are low.
