A few of the forums on FISO are private/hidden forums that are used by syndicates for discussion/planning of entries into competitions such as The Sun's Weekend Dreamteam, Tote Ten to Follow, Premier 10 & Footy 15.

If anyone else wishes a private/hidden forum creating then you should send me a PM.

A private/hidden forum means that it is hidden from view to everyone apart from members of a certain 'usergroup' and me (and the leader of the usergroup decides who is added into that usergroup). If the group leader is happy for one or more moderators to have access to the hidden forum then fine but if not then happy for me to be the only one with access outside of the usergroup. I would expect the forum content to just stick to the syndicate issues.

The responsibility for organising appropriate documentation for the syndicate on the matter of sharing prizes/winnings etc rests with the syndicate members.

I would suggest allowing at least one moderator access to view each of these hidden forum, doesn't have to have access to post, edit etc. Maybe the leader of each usergroup could get to decide the moderator?

Just a thought to try avoid repeats of previous shenanigans....

Some of these may have some pretty personal information for ease of access... i'm happy enough having admin and/or Karrde access my forum in particular, but when i may have another one/two it may become a bit too much.. there is a lot of personal info/money matters etc. going on throughout it. also tactics for example, in the SWDT forum.. not saying any moderator would steal/use this info, but that's the reason it's a hidden forum...

they are a good idea, as without them a few people would probably nod off elsewhere to make their own mini private forums, messengers etc.

I'm not sure I follow that - you should never post anything too revealing on t'web and while you may go a bit further in a private forum (sort code and account number???) I still wouldn't overly trust some people you only know through a forum. Admin and the moderators can surely be trusted to at least the degree you'd trust any decent seeming poster.

If it's mainly SWDT then zimmerman is a mod and heavily involved in Sun games so it would make sense to me that he mods the hidden forum. Totally up to the people in the syndicates though.
And as murf says there shouldn't be anything too personal in there anyway

Aye, they're a great idea, and I realise the privacy issue that's why it would have to be a mod that the private forum users trusted, although to be fair as long as Admin is modding them then that's all that's required I suppose.

I wouldn't trust a moderator just because he is a moderator. Murf's quite right, I wouldn't actually trust anyone I haven't met or have had a long term 'relationship' with.

I know what you are saying, but regardless, these private forums are required, and while they're there I think they should be modded, but as I said above, I suppose as long as Admin is modding them then it's fine.

As far as the Tote Ten to Follow Private Forum goes, Spencer4 and myself are both Administrators in it, and we are both Mods. So that's at least sorted.

As far as I'm aware, some (maybe all) Mods have access to "my" SWDT forum. I'm perfectly happy for them to pop by; everything has been very cordial since the earlier ruckus that caused us to go private.

Whilst previous forum problems arose from a private forum it wasn't a syndicate forum. It also had moderators (now ex-mods) that were part of that private forum.

I trust the guys i'm talking about here, we all have addresses, e-mails, phone numbers (that have been used!), and in cases eachothers money. we wouldn't scam each other out of a penny. the reason i said about private information (not talking about addresses or anything here though), was that Chris would want us to stick to FISO as much as we can, not emigrate elsewhere.. so that we have done!

it's just, let's say, you find a fantastic bet, that you want your friends to find on BF before the moneys gone - you want to let them know ASAP - a quick post is the best way to do this - and if a moderator is scanning through his moderating stuff, as you do, and finds it.. he'll probably take it - not saying i wouldn't be happy with that if he made money, but i'm sure you can see where i'm coming from....

also i'd rather not have a 'random' mod that i may not trust, by not meeting him, or talking to him, seeing how much money i owe someone, or what players my best TFF team has in .. for example.there's not much going on in there anyway, and these groups aren't usually the places needing much moderation, if i said something quite bad - the members know my details anyway.
and cheers Chris - i'm happy with you, or whoever you choose to, read the side-forum.. but no need to OTT in moderation - or theres not much point in having a private forum tbf!!

Maybe someone with no real interest in the subject would be suitable that would only respond to a request/ report to visit any given forum at all? Perhaps the only ones that might be actively viewed would be any containing posters that have a history of breaching T&Cs on the open forums?
