FS Record: TFF 10/11 3rd & 5 teams in top 100, 5 SLs won, MotW winner, 3x PL Eggs, TFF 11/12 36th.
The Leagues:-
Premier http://fantasyfootball.telegraph.co.uk/ ... ew/8000152
Championship http://fantasyfootball.telegraph.co.uk/ ... ew/8000449
L1 http://fantasyfootball.telegraph.co.uk/ ... ew/8000695
L2 http://fantasyfootball.telegraph.co.uk/ ... ew/8000706
L3 http://fantasyfootball.telegraph.co.uk/ ... ew/8004959

Last year's thread where the winner was Blah Blah 8-) is here - super-egg-cup-competition-t79389.html

All winners are entered into The Hall of Fame here - eggcup-hall-of-fame-post-thelip-t83872.html

So onto this year and we have 67 teams.

So the simplest way to get down to 64 is a preliminary round which will involve the 6 worst performing teams so no byes this year which is bad news for me. :P

There will as last year be a home and away round played in consecutive weeks giving your team one home and one away game so no excuses !

The 6 worst performing teams are:
1. Primitives 137
2. Anubis 144
3. Browney 18 149
4. Chaser 2k4 152
5. Hogweed 155
6. Cherylhoney 160

Des and Mystery just avoid the ignominy next on 165.

Just for the record the top 6 performers would have been:-

1. happyhoppy 255 8-)
2. zipnolan 241
3. Boltonboy 233
3. Chuck Taylor 233
3. Topspurs 233
6. KizKiz 229

Think those top 2 were the top 2 last year overall, what is it about the eggcup Zip !

The Preliminary round draw is:-

1. Anubis v Cherylhoney
2. Chaser2k4 v Hogweed
3. Browney 18 v Primitives

Ties will be played in week 7 (w/c 20/9) and week 8 (w/c 27/9).

The 3rd round Cup draw to follow.

Dates of the Rounds are as Follows:-

Round 3 - October 15th and 22nd
Round 4 - November 19th and 26th
Round 5 - December 10th and 17th
QF - January 14th and 21st
SF - February 4th and 11th
Final - March 3rd and 10th

So much for that unique random number generator, everything was going ok until the last 3 games then out popped 5 Premier players and we have the Egg equivalent of MU v MC in round 3 in game 32 with last years Premier champion (that's me btw 8-) ) playing the runner up. We therefore have another all Premier clash as Karrde takes on The Saint. Other stand out ties are Fiso vets Chief Wiggsy taking on Razorback, last year's cup runner up has to take on Premiership opposition in Jester whilst last year's winner takes on L3 topnotchbloke, could there be a shock where L3 chairman Hogmeister takes on Neathboy from the Premier but there is no doubt where the biggy is at. :P

Good luck !

Preliminary round

After Week 7 (ie half time)

1. Anubis 43 v 32 Cherylhoney
2. Chaser2k4 37 v 35 Hogweed
3. Browney18 33 v 31 Primitive Man

Week 8 (w/c 27/9) to come.

Preliminary round

Week 7
1. Anubis 43 v 32 Cherylhoney
2. Chaser2k4 37 v 35 Hogweed
3. Browney18 33 v 31 Primitive Man

Week 8
1. Anubis 22 v 40 Cherylhoney
2. Chaser2k4 37 v 42 Hogweed
3. Browney18 19 v 48 Primitive Man

Total
1. Anubis 65 v 72 Cherylhoney
2. Chaser2k4 74 v 77 Hogweed
3. Browney18 52 v 79 Primitive Man

So 3 away wins and 2 close run ties. Congrats to the winners who now enter the 3rd round.

The class is showing.

All 8 Premiership teams playing lower league opposition have won their first leg 8-)

Highlights:-

The Ledge edges through gaining some revenge in losing out on the Premier League last year in a close contest, just 3 pts, I blame MU for my exit as The Ledge cleansed himself of everything RED from his team.

This year's big egghead Chuck Taylor  makes an exit at the hands of RichT so can now concentrate on gaining promotion and being top egger.

Only 3 Premier teams have been eliminated, 2 from all Premier ties and only Jester lost out, to NFFC from D2.

Mase was the unluckiest manager losing out by 1 pt to Alchemist athough both Hogweed and Mark1886 both lost out with the highest losing scores with 64, closely followed by Chuck Taylor on 63. 14 ties had 10 or less pts in them.

There were 13 upsets with lower league opposition winning out.

Now onto the Draw for the 4th Round....

Highlights:-

One all Premier League tie with Neathboy taking on Mystery.
Stand out tie between 2 of Fiso's most opinionated, I'll let you all guess what that tie is.
Last year's winner Blah Blah looks to have an easy passage to R5 against L3 opposition.

Plenty of opportunities for lower league teams to cause an upset or two.

The make up of the last 32 is as follows:-

Premier 9
Championship 3
L1 4
L2 8
L3 8

So the Premier League shows its class at the moment.

Nevermind about these all Premiership ties.
One of the ties of the round has got to be my clash with Jagduracell.
Top of league 2 v Top of league 3 and 2nd and 3rd in the Top Egger league.

No doubt it'll be a low scoring affair. After 3 decent weeks in a row it's almost guaranteed to come crashing down in time for the cup to start back up!

Some very close games from the 1st legs, remember 2nd legs are this week.

The biggest lead is Groomyd over Murf by 19 pts.
Of the 9 PL teams 6 have leads including 1 all Premier tie.
Blah Blah, the defending champion, despite having 568 pts overall, trails Muldoon by 6 pts.
In the battle of top of L2 and L3 Jagduracell takes a 5 pt lead.
Of the 16 ties, 10 are separated by less than 10 pts.

Thought I would be out of this for sure but looks like Boltonboy has had as bad a couple of weeks as I have. 1 point in it by my reckoning

I was leading by 6 after 1st round but have lost by 2 points to Blahblah by my calculations. I'm annoyed I got sucked into doing stupid tinkers for the Cup but guess I would'nt be saying that if they'd worked :) Anyway good luck for the next round Blahblah.

Yes ,one point in it .Could have done with Mrs Riise dropping a week earlier :) .
Was tempted to bring in Agbonlahor yesterday but used 15 transfers already.Still top of Div2 ,although lead has been cut in last 2 weeks.Well done and good luck in next round.

4th Round Results

Where to start ?

1. 5 Premier League teams progressed but 5 also progressed from D3. Nice to see the newbies all doing well, should make the egg leagues competitive in years to come.

2. Last year's champion and top egger Blah Blah crashed out with the highest losing score by 2 pts to Muldoon from D3 (who previously thought he had lost).

3. Top of L2 and L3 saw Jagduacell edge out Boltonboy by 1 solitary point.

4. 1 pt was also all that separated groomyd from murf as the former progresses to the next round.

5. Onto the shocks with Knulpuk D2 winning through against Zipnolan DC, Latic D3 beat Alchemist D1 but no doubt where the 2 biggest shocks were with Digsby the current Premier leader losing to Topspur from D3 by 9 pts and Billybluenose beating last year's Premier runner up and conquerer of yours truly The Ledge by 20 pts.

6. Neathboy yet again prevailed in another all Premier clash this time seeing off Mystery.

5th Round Draw
Ties to be played Dec 10th and 17th weeks.

1. As said 10 of the 16 places are comprised from the Premier and League 3. Spinynorman carries the Championship flag, 2 from L1 and 3 from L2.

2. Can Topspur add BFM from the Premier League to his list of scalps ?

3. Muldoon, after having knoced Blah Blah out is rewarded with Lucky7s from the Premier.

Good luck all !

Given the who is in your team at the moment + the rate you are burning up your transfers I am not sure that's possible 8-)
