The game was played at a very high level: the marks are ridiculously low over all.

Adebayor played very well.

Don't play the S*um game, but thought Adebayor did well as a lone striker.

Typical Sun rating weekend, make sure the biggest £8m players get the best marks. Was Rooney really better than Ronaldo or Vidic? Ridiculous. Were John Terry and Lampard really the second and third best players for Chelsea? Only surprise for me is that they didn't just ignore Agger and give Stevie G Star Man.

Surprised that Dot missed a chance to mention "Log" Carson's weekend haul - or is that on another thread?

From what I saw of the Boro v Wigan game (entire 2nd half), I'm a little surprised that Downing got a 7 as his crossing was woeful - but mildly pleased as he's in my one token, miserable, attempt at this game.

Thats it, I am ditching Finnan for Agger next window. Agger must be the best scoring defender by now and he has played less games than the others around him.

I actually watched the Chelsea game this time around (the whole game) so now I know what a Lampard 7 performance looks like - he was just about the least effective Chelsea player on the pitch. Essien deserved his MOTM though.

I watched the Bolton game too eager to see how Nolan is getting on and he was pretty woeful all game and missed two sitters yet he gets a 7 too! Diouf was blatently Boltons best player and should have got MOTM but I see he just scraped a 7.

Dont forget BarnDoor Frank was unlucky hitting the post from 3 yards perhaps the sight of the goal being ungarded put him off.

Why

For the lack of a few 7s? Lets say Agger (who is more likely to be rotated) gets an extra 10 7s over Finnan, and thats a very generous guess.

You are going to blow a transfer to gain 30 points max!!

If that is the best improvement you can make to your team, then may I shake your hand, for you must already be in first place.

Flamini scores one and then stops Chelsea winning it with a crucial stop at the death and gets a six? Wallys!

Yeah I know, but it is very frustrating as I used this exact logic to keep Finnan over Agger last window.

Agger has averaged twice as many points as Finnan (if you work out his points per game ratio) and he seems to be playing every game nowadays.

Flamini gets a 6, Adebayor gets a 5 and Fat Frank gets the same rating as Silva

Even though I hate the pie eating bast*rd I'm going to put FFL in at the next window because if he's getting 7's for that performance then.....
