Actually maybe just a summary of current "expert" opinion divined from the rest of the forum including little known bargains and guarenteed point machines

Is that not the stats section?

Really, that's not what the FAQ has been created for, I see it more a long standing feature of the forum that will change very little from season to season.

There's enough talk of bargains and the suchlike in the main forum without filling up the FAQ. And as Wiz suggests, the stats can provide historical points machines.

Added a new element to the FAQ based on a long standing irritation!

10. Appropriate use of the Reply & Quote Buttons

My gripe is when people put players in their RMT and state the reason as "I don't know anything about him, but people on the forum have mentioned him a lot". Surely you'd do some basic research on a player to find out more info than just what a bloke said on a forum post!!?!

So, for the purposes of the FAQ, could we include some suggestions in Section 2 of the best external websites for people to find stats, player profiles and general information about teams, such as the official club website (easily found in Google), Wikipedia, Soccerbase, Soccernet, etc...?

A fine gripe Jules, one of mine too.

I'll try and add something along those lines.

I've decided to leave off oddschecker, but i've added the other two as they are good ones. Oddschecker is a fine site, but if i add that, what others would i have to end up adding?

I don't want to overload the list with external links, so unless there are exceptional cases i think i'll leave the list as is for a while.

Zarch this is such a good idea. I've always found the layout of the whole site a little counter-intuitive and have, for example, always struggled to find the (most excellently updated by URkiddingMe) pre-season fixture posts. I think it's because they are on the Team News (incl. Injuries) page but sit above the title "Team News (incl injuries)" rather than under "Topics" as a sticky.

I solve my problem by having a link to it on my favourites toolbar as well as to fiso.co.uk

I thought about suggesting you add a shortcut to it but, once you know how to get to it, it's no so bad. I do take the point though that you don't want too many links on the FAQs and, as we only look at this bit for a couple of months a season, it's probably wise not to link it.

A few people put a lot of work into this forum and I thank you all.

I've updated the pre-season fixture Q&A in section 13 to be a little more specific.

Also added a new section (12. Spell Checking in your Browser)

Okay, a little pedantic maybe, but very damn useful.... not just for on here, but everywhere.

Two suggestions:

1 Update the link to the area where you can get the ratings the night before (section 6)

2 Add a section with contact names / numbers / addresses of people at The Sun who people can contact in case of things like queries over unpaid prize money etc.

Brilliant Zarch. For an old codger like myself it was always a bit of struggle going through various threads with the few remaining brain cells I possess looking for a particular piece of information. This makes life much easier for me, now where did I put that coffee

6. Getting the ratings the night before the Sun newspaper comes out
In most cases, its possible to get the ratings that will be in tomorrows paper the night before using this link: (usually around 11pm)
