Adebayor

Pros

Takes pens
Spurs are playing very well
Has Wolves at home next and Wigan at home GW23

Cons

Finishing is woeful
Can’t play against Man City GW22
Fairly tough fixtures GW24-27
More expensive than Sturridge

Sturridge

Pros

Great value
Has Sunderland at home next followed by Norwich Away

Cons

Yellow flagged and may miss the game this weekend? Potential for price drop
Chelsea aren’t playing as well as Spurs
Not on pens like Adebayor is
Not an out and out striker

FS Record: Won TSO £10 comp 2008, retained title in 2009. FPL: 96th, 19th.
Ade : not 100% re pens, he has taken one when vdv is on pitch, a surprise, and vdv very good at them. Central striker bit is key. Fixtures, have not looked but doesn't he have many stinkers but good in between? May not be so bad on that basis.

Sturridge is injured isn't he?

Ade took a pen when VDV was on the pitch.

Are people voting Sturridge based on his price alone? What if price was not an object?

This is a relevant question for me at the moment. Right now I have both, but when I use my January wildcard, I'm thinking of upgrading one of them but struggling to decide which one. Because of the price I'll probably be keeping Sturridge.

I can see it being the same decision for many. What counts against Ade is missing the Man City fixture and this will swing it for many but Wigan at home the week after is difficult to ignore :?

I voted for Sturridge for a variety of reasons. Firstly because Ade hasn't performed in the time I've had him, secondly because Sturridge will really want to prove himself before the Euros and thirdly because I feel Chelsea will get better whereas Spurs are, in my opinion, performing at the top of their game.

I currently have both but Ade will definitely go in my Jan WC. It's a toss up between Sturridge and Mata as to who I keep for Chelsea coverage.

Sturridge is fit to play according to AVB press conference. 16 goals scored by Chelsea in last 3 games vs Sunderland. I think the fixtures and money combine to make it a no brainer. Sturridge is a better choice...I have both however so it is moot to me.

Has anyone actually been watching Chelsea and Sunderland lately? A Sunderland win is by no means out of the question.

Adebayor by a country mile, simply because Wolvess can't keep a clean sheet and Ade is due.

Adebayor does not justify the extra 2m IMO.

Seem to remember when he joined City he had a great start in FPL, then slowly petered out. Are we witnessing the same thing here?

I have Adebayor at present but after this weekend will probably take him out for Sturridge, chelsea have better fixtures even if they are not playing great.
And also Adebayor is s**t, a workmate of mine is a spurs fan and calls him a black Peter Crouch. Nuff said.

I beelipn hope so, and I would have thought Sturridge vs Yak, or even Henry would be more relevant?

No brainers? Ha, how many times have we heard this before and fall flat? Sunderland is new and improved and won't be for the taking, especially not against this Chelsea. Anyone also remember last season's game? Not that past results guarantee anything though

Takes pens

IIRC, he only has taken pens when VDV was out, and then one when VDV had a pull on his hamstring and opted not to take it.

I could be wrong, but i wouldnt bank on him taking pens every time.

That was my point, it was one, hence a pointer but not firm evidence. Later poster suggested vdv may have had hamstring, for instance. Vdv is very good at them, after all.

I've read from one of the journos on twitter that Spurs are 6 points clear of everyone else in the league since the end of August (When Adebayor & Parker joined up)...

That's got nothing to do with the price of fish ( ) as Sturridge was banned for the first three GWs.

In the context of this thread, you are correct sir... But in a general Spurs gloating thread ...
