It has some links with 'apples' on them ..... good luck!

AVG picked up a trojan horse on PPMate today (Generic7.DLW).

It could be a 'false positive', but better safe than sorry, so I've uninstalled it.
If you have an older version of PPMate that is working ok, that should be fine, just avoid upgrading for now.

The best site I have found for info on streamed live footy is here:
FreeFootball.org, but you must register to take advantage of their excellent advice.

this is the best site i have used.. not just football but all sports.. it has links to everygame available

(including arsenals friendly on sat)

I find sopcast is the best quality out of all of the different systems. Also i found its worthwhile to check to see if there are new streams on the website 10-15mins into the game as they update them when they can

90% of the games can be found with english commentary too :)

You could maybe try this. I don't go for the p2p stuff myself, but there are others that can be used without the p2p.

the graphics card helps, but you also need to take into account your processor speed, how much RAM you have, and your internet connection speed.

If you've got around a 2Ghz processor, 1GB of RAM, and about 2 -3MB internet connection & a decent graphics card you should be getting a good stream.

Use Sopcast and/or Ustream as your first choices as a rule of thumb

As far as i'm aware as long as you've got a graphics card that's not from last century you should be fine. The main thing is your internet connection. There's a limit to the quality of these things anyway and it's also dependant on how many people are using it at the time. I get a video quality that is slightly worse than a youtube video and i've got a fairly high spec PC and internet connection.

Yeah, it's been a learning process for me on P2P as I didn't really get into it properly til the start of this season. I've accepted now that you are pretty much governed by a combo like you say there Gravesy - Internet Connection, number of peers, and not making your viewing screen too large.

Veetle are pretty good, as of course is UStream. SOPCast is also a safe bet. Between those 3, and in that order - I find I'm pretty happy.

Yeah I use pretty much the same applications, i'll watch a game on one of them then check the others about 10mins in to see if they're any better, as by this time they've usually got everyone who's going to watch, watching. If that makes sense. :?

There was a bit about this on BBC Breakfast this morning, but I had to leave the house before it started. The trailer bit said they were going to clamp down on people watching games live over the internet.

Did anyone see it? I can't find anything on the Beeb website.

I'm not suggesting that I watch games, or that anyone round here does. I just want to know in case I come across anyone that does watch on-line, so I can warn them.

I think this may be the one Shaggy.

It`s interesting that myp2p have just won a legal battle regarding this.

I listened to a BBC radio feature on this topic a couple of weeks ago - I think it was on Radio5Live on Sunday night,22 Feb - and the point made by a legal expert was that whilst it's illegal to broadcast such streams, it's not illegal to watch them.

The growth in the market for such broadcasts was said to be unstoppable, and the best solution suggested by experts was for the broadcasts to be made legal, with a charge of say 50p made to watch a high quality version of games broadcast, to stem the loss of revenue.

Hi

Living out in Spain, cricket does not get quite the attention it does in the UK and my Sky reception has been so poor I have cancelled my subscription.

Does anyone know where I might find online coverage of the Twenty20 World Cup? I guess that BBC 5 live may do for radio although I fear this will be blocked for non-uk listeners. Besides which I would like to watch as much as possible.

I have found the likes of MyP2P a bit flaky for Cricket and anyway, I am more than happy to pay to view to get a good picture - I just don't want to get ripped off...

So any assistance will be very much appreciated!

Bert.

Try cric7.com Bert, I`ve used them for EPL streaming using Sopcast, but they seem to have their own p2p software for Cricket, I have not tried it so it may be worth doing a search to confirm it`s secure.

Good luck

is Sky Player( 2mb broadband speed required) available to you in Spain ? no dish etc needed,so would overcome your reception problems.
I think that to get Setanta's-iplayer service, you have to be in the UK due to licencing arrangements - at least this applies to the EPL so I'm presuming it does to cricket also.

Thanks for the help guys. Will check it out.

I think all the iplayers, sky anywhere etc... only work in the UK. At least the ones I have seen so far...

Will give cric7 a go.
