I buy the Sun for it's football/racing coverage, which for me is the best bar none and not just value for money.

I think certain other papers are bogshite with their coverage of both of the above especially on Saturdays with the Suns multitude of pages devoted to sport.

Anyway when i look at team line-ups i heed what the Sun says but also have a look on a Saturday on what the projected line-ups are in the Guardian.

To be fair i dont know many other papers that do projected line-ups, maybe they do but i dont scan the net to check.

The Sun have controversially come out with a bold prediction today in that United will drop De-dropalot, lets be fair he has been pants so far so i can see where they come from. They also believe Tevez will start-( so does the guardian for that matter, christ so do i even)..

Anyway ain't done my WDT yet so after i finish i'm going to take a closer look, now i have bought the Sun, and compare the team line-ups for today and the next few weeks to see which paper gets the best results on starting line-ups.

Other interesting tips from each paper

The Sun reckons fruitcake starts for Man City (ballonutter)
The Guardian reckons Dzeko misses out.

Hopefully i'll have time to stick up the line-ups before 3 today, even if i dont it wont matter as i will get round to it today.

Do either have Coleman back for Everton? OFL reckon he's out for another month, Sporting Life have him in the squad.

The shite(for football news) Sportinglife.com have Coleman fit again and returning to the squad.
I'm not sure if Sportinglife.com paste their summarys from Ceefax football news or vice versa.

In answer to your question neither the Sun or Guardian have Coleman in the starting line ups.

With all due respect Chrispy i think the Daily Mail is the Acrington Stanley of this thread if they ever aspired to be able to compete.

(fwiw the guardian have that stat--
Tim Cahill has scored six top-flight goals in 10 games against the visitors, more than against any other side he has faced)

still doing my wdt so have not yet had time to stick up the heavyweight bash predicted line-ups.

feel free to compare them with the mail after 3 pm and quash my comments though.

8-)

Nasri has a poorly pinky doesnt he?

And whilst Cahill has scored more against Villa more than any other opponent… he hasnt scored since 20th December

I think Nasri and Tevez will both start, replacing Aguero.

The papers are hit and miss really, don't think you can ever fully trust them.

The Mirror has Tevez playing instead of Aguero, no Nasri, but they do have Barry in which is probably wrong.

I usually buy The Sun and the Mirror on a Saturday, they normally know what's going on between them.

It's not a case of trust it's a case of who gets more info correct as i think the Sun is good in the respectr of football exclusives, but i also think the Guardian are good on squad sheets on Saturdays.

I'm just going to do this over the coming weeks to see how good either are.

The put your bollocks on the line headline though is the Suns brave call on United calamity keeper.

Aint eard it anywhere else yet.

This is a useful exercise, provided it's done regularly for at least 6 weeks to be fair to all.

Could do with someone with spreadsheet expertise to format it for easy comparison.

I dont do spreadsheets bits of paper for me.

I went and bought that lump of shite mirror to compare after 3pm their line-ups with the EVEN SHITTIER Mail that Crispy kindly put up later.

i'll stick up a running total of correct scores with the 4 papers for next few weeks.
already laughing at Evertons starting 11 from the mail.

I've always found fantasy scout a better predictor than the newspapers. He also gives a small write up on his predicted line up which is useful. When in doubt I compare his line up with the Guardian online. While I don't have any solid stats, I've found him more reliable than the Guardian mostly. A lot of situations boil down to educated guess work. The Tevez/Aguero/Dzecko troika is a point in case. None of them know for sure who will start. At least the fantasy scout gives his thinking on his prediction.

"Given the recent attacking form of Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli may have to make do with places on the bench. Although with Tevez rested during the international break, he may well get the nod here after Aguero’s exploits with Argentina."

Predicted Lineup: Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy; Y Toure, Milner, Silva, Nasri; Tevez, Dzeko.

The Guardian has Tevez starting too, but at the expense of Dzecko. Both of them could be wrong if Balotelli gets the nod. Which is a possibilty with mid week games pending and being at home to weak opposition today.

fantasy scout: http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/team-news/

Guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/series/squad-sheets

I don't normally buy the Sun or any newspaper. I prefer to do all my research online. Do the Sun have an online version of their line up predictions?

Ok,that's fine with me - though probably best to set 6 week period in advance,to eliminate accusations of you choosing the cut off date to suit your case; :D

No problem as i already said i think the Line-ups from the Sun is probably their weak point of their Sport coverage but still think it will fair well with the other papers.

Slighty predict Guardian to come out on top ere over 6 weeks even if that does sound arse about face.

CONFIDSENTLY predict the Mail will be swimming along a mile behind.
