I saw a documentary recently, he was living in flat above a run down gym with a small blackand white telly. He was a huge part of what made that era of 1970 - 1975 arguably the best in heavyweight history.

IMO he lacked the charisma/media savvy gifts of the others which is probably why he didn't have the luxury he deserved in his final years.

I saw that too. That was his gym which he used to train at in his pre professional days. Quite remarkable.
