Good luck mate, you are doing well.

I got Rooney too but made RVP captain. I'm about 20 points off the top 100 before todays games.

Just a note to say that the man of the matches for this week are at the bottom of the first page of this thread when they come in.

Well done to both of you above who are the top 100, keep it up.
Also, I'd like to add that next week should be the start of the sky sports knockout cup - so if you are not near touching distance at the overall competition, why not try to spend some transfers for this competition.

Prize for the winner is 2 VIP tickets to see the Premier League team of your choice in action, plus luxury travel and a 2 night hotel stay. Worth giving it a go, nigh on impossible to win though :)

12 matches gone for most and it wasn't the best week for most star players except one..
Van Persie has just got his 5th MOM in a row - amazing. If Arsenal are not a one-man team atm, I'd like to see one.
Nearly as impressive is Man City's 12 MOM in a row - disappointing though that no single player is really standing out for them atm
Arsenal(Van Persie) (5 MOM in a row) along with Swansea and Tottenham(4 MOM in a row) are judged favourably.
Forwards/Defenders who get goals are getting MOM's more often then before (ie Helguson, Yakubu, Baines, Johnson), the exception being Adebayor.
Additional favoured players added to the ever-increasing MOM list include Sessengon, Long, Bale and Williams - it is hoped that these players continue to attract MoM's when their clubs have easier fixtures in the future.
Forwards got 4 MOM's with Defenders continuing to improve with 4 MOM's with midfielders trailing with 2 MOM.

Most MOM Awards:
    6
    VAN PERSIE(Arsenal)
    3
    SILVA & AGUERO(Man City)
    SUAREZ (Liverpool)
    AGBONLAHOR (Aston Villa)
    2

    OSMAN & BAINES (Everton)
    BALOTELLI (Man City)
    SINCLAIR & VORM & WILLIAMS(Swansea)
    CABAYE & BA (Newcastle)
    RUDDY (Norwich)
    PARKER & BALE (Tottenham)
    LAMPARD (Chelsea)
    EAGLES (Bolton)
    SESSENGON (Sunderland)
    LONG (West Brom)

Hot:
12 MOM Man City
9/10 or 11 MOM None
8 MOM Man Utd Newcastle Swansea Arsenal Tottenham
7 MOM Aston Villa Liverpool
6 MOM Norwich Chelsea West Brom
Not:
2 MOM Wolves Fulham

13 matches into the season and rotation and upset results again trip up some (but not all) of the favoured players this week. Also, the big MOM streaks have ended (van Persie and Man City). Maybe, when the European club competitions take a break for the winter, rotation may cease and the lists below will become more relevant.
Agbonlahor, despite not scoring in a 0-0 draw, had enough attacking threat to earn his fourth MOM this season - his 1st away from home. Agbonlahor and Villa have tough fixtures coming up but 3 of their 4 are at Villa Park, where Agbonlahor excels. Will his form continue?
Two players increased their MOM tally to 3 by means of their attacking threat - Baines and Moses.
Baines gets his 2nd MOM in a row and is the first defender to get 3 MOM this season, he didn't need a goal/assist this time to impress. Moses doesn't score a lot but his trickery and threat earns him a 3rd MOM and he is his team's "main attacking threat".
Etherington(crossing), Mata(constant threat) and Krul(stunning saves) earn their second MOM of the season.
Midfielders earn the most MOM this week with 5, Forwards with 3, Defenders with 1 and Goalkeepers with 1
Tottenham continue their good form (5 MOM in a row). A third into the season now and it does seem that winning greatly contribute to the awarding of the MOM and there is little evidence of favoured teams as such other than the slight bias shown towards the more attacking teams.

14 matches in for most teams and a number of players are starting to show themselves as their team's eye catching player.
Van Persie showed that last week was just a blip with his 7th MOM of the season, three ahead of the rest.
Interestingly, Mata has now his 2nd MOM in a row (3rd overall) and appears to be increasingly influential in Chelsea's play.
Rooney also managed to force his way to a 3rd MOM which shows he is in good form atm, maybe goals will follow soon??
4 goal hero Yakubu automatically receives his 2nd MOM of the season. Faurlin, with his great passing, also gets his 2nd MOM.
Only 3 teams have managed a streak of 2 MOM atm showing the annoyingly competitive nature of the premier league :x .
Midfielders are the most popular MOM choice with 4, closely followed by forwards 3, goalkeepers 2 and defenders 1.

15 matches for most teams and it is nice to see some familiar names earning MOM this week.
Van Persie has done it AGAIN - his 2nd MOM in a row and his 8th MOM for the season. No other Arsenal player has more than 1 MOM this season. He really is very selfish. :D
Another player shining is Moses with his 2nd MOM in 3 games and his 4th MOM in total. He is managing to shine while his team mostly struggled. Can he do it again against better opposition?
Sinclair was the key attacking player for Swansea and earned his 3rd MOM of the season.
Holt(all round display), Samba(captain display) and Crouch(lively) earns their 2nd MOM.
Interesting choice of Ferdinand as MOM for Man Utd (especially with the perceived MOM bias towards attacking players) but it shows that hattricks could be needed to guarantee MOM awards.
A trend confirmed is that every promoted team's goalkeeper gets MOM at Anfield - words fail me.
This week, forwards earn 4 MOM, midfielders 3 MOM, defenders with 2 and goalkeepers with 1.

16 matches gone into the season for most teams and with matches coming thick and fast starting again on TUESDAY, it is important to deal with issues in your team by the deadline. It is nice to see some players on the top of the MOM list getting rewarded this week.
Moses can indeed perform against better opposition with his 3rd MOM in just 4 games and his 5th MOM in total. Moses' international career is still up in the air. - On this form, Capello must select him for Euro 2012 as he can't afford to lose him to Nigeria?
Another player on form is Crouch with his 2nd MOM in a row. His height and form seems to make him the main threat atm.
Rooney gains his 4th man of the match award and he is back to his old form according to observers.
Suarez was a delight to watch and gained his 4th MOM of the season, ahead of his scoring teammates.
Brunt(great delivery), Van der Vaart(flair), Richards(all-action) and Johnson(constant menace) earn their 2nd MOM of the season.
Stoke, Fulham and Man Utd. are teams which have had 3 MOM in a row.
This week, Forwards earned 4 MOM, midfielders with 3 MOM and defenders with 3 MOM.
Next Summary will be sometime next month but MOM for each match will be on this thread over Christmas/New year.

After all those games, an updated total list of sky man of the matches over the season below.
Has to be noted that Christmas was not the best scoring for the top players but other players performed well.
Crouch earned his 4th MOM for the season and his 3rd MOM in 5 games.
Van Persie earned his 9th MOM during the period to increase his lead as top MOM player.
Hennessey, Dunne and Distin were the ONLY players to get 2 MOM over the 4 matches over Christmas. No midfielder/attacker managed this which was surprising.
MOM over the 3 weeks by position; Midfielders 13, Defenders 11, Forwards 11 and Goalkeepers 5. Midfielders/Attackers still have an advantage over Defenders/Goalkeepers over the season in terms of MOM imo.
Teams enjoying a sizable MOM streak include Tottenham and Sunderland(3).

I really thought this hectic period of games would show a consistent MOM pattern but a combination of rotation, results and a willingness to share out the MOM awards around more than expected has left me wondering what might have been.
This would denote to me anyway that there are very few teams or players, if any, that are heavily favoured by sky. :| Makes these written summaries as pointless as a solar-powered torch. :)

Updated MOM list above in all its random glory. I'll probably be away from the computer for the next two weekends so it is likely there won't be a quick update of the weekend MOM. I need a break to get over the lack of MOM trends in the sky game :) . I'll update again when I can.

At least I figured out why there is no consistency in the MOM awards, sky have so many football reporters and writers on their books and they rotate them around all the premier league clubs constantly. For example, in their 22 premier league games, Man City have had 16 different reporters judging the MOM; I naively thought maybe only 3 or 4 people in total report on the matches for the website . Overall, I found the MOM awards quite fair and well judged but the awards can be too random at times and the reporters imo don't take into account individual players with high ownership in the fantasy game. This can be frustrating for nearly all fantasy players but could be considered fairer, I suppose.
