I've recently made the switch from Sky to BT & have to say that now that I'm getting used to it, I'm really starting to prefer it. Masses of films and box sets to choose from when their's nothing on ESPN comes for a one-off £10 fee (Sky Sports 1 & 2 are available at an extra cost - but I only really watch Football on TV & there is not a match you can't get on the internet these days). The 'Unlimited' package is definitely the one to get as the 'Essential' packages charge for all the little extras and may end up costing you more per month than the 'unlimited' packs

Sky for me have really lost their sparkle over the last few years & seem to be falling behind the others who now seem to have better innovations. Virgin are still not available in our area (cable) but from what I've heard its a pretty good system.

Freeview is OK and can surely only get bigger and better as more channels are inevitably added.

So which do you all have, which do you prefer, do you have multiple systems.

FS Record: 8th overall TFF 06/07, TFF25s & FISO Super League Champion 06/07, FISO Euro 2008 Predictions League Champion, 2nd overall Sky FF 08/09, Block Party Super League Champion 10/11, 44th overall TFF 11/12, slightly worse than HappyHoppy...
I'm with Sky & have been with them for about eight or so years. I looked at the alternatives about 18 months ago but as I wanted a decent selection of HD channels (& sky were offering a free HD box at the time) ended up staying with them & upgraded to the full HD package  .

Although I wouldn't describe Sky as VFM, the HD channels are now pretty much comprehensive (at least as far as my viewing habits are concerned) and the only SD channel I watch is FilmFour. As I've got access to Virgin Media (already have phone & broadband with them) I could take out their basic tv package as well but that seems a little bit excessive just to get FilmFour HD (hopefully it will stop being a VM exclusive sooner rather than later).

I'm currently getting a £10 discount so I'm paying £52pm for the full Sky World package ATM, the discount is due to end towards the end of this month so will have to call their retentions team quite soon & try to get another discount out of them (hopefully letting them know that I've got the option of switching to VM will help with this)...

sky are by far the best been with all the others and i dont rate them...the only good thing about virgin is that it allows you more recording options on its box..

apart from that i think they are GARBAGE

BT vision for me Everything I need + sky sports 1, 2 and espn. Internet and Phone for £65pcm.

Box sets etc are good too.

Downside : no instant HD transmissions (only downloadable) - but that's reflected in the price.
