So i'm thinking off getting the lot (haven't got anything at the mo bar freeview)

What can people tell me in regards to this? best deals? haggling?

What I require

Every Sky Sports channel
ESPN
no dish
don't need phone/broadband as already on other contracts i'm happy with
other channels do not matter in the slightest

have only talked to Virgin and their deal is
65 channels, Sky sports package + ESPN £41 a month + £40 installation for 12 months, have heard if I get a friend to recommend me they get £50 off their bill plus I get free installation

The same with Sky seems to be about £48 a month but with free installation

BT seems as though you need to have phone/broadband aswell

can anyone offer some tips/advice?

For Sky use Quid co or top cash backand keep all the cashback/perks to yourself.

Quid co = Record offer ends Thursday! £274 total saving for Sky+! Up to £95 cashback, a £100 M&S voucher from Sky (was £50) with a free Sky+ or Sky+HD Box and free standard set-up (saving £79!)

TCB = Includes a £100 M&S Voucher, a FREE Sky+ Box (worth £49*) & FREE Standard Set-Up (worth £30*). *Sky+ box normally £49 with £30 standard set-up for new customers.

Have a look to see what suits :)

If you have no dish you have no Red Button

No Interactive Sports :?:

If you watch Cricket you would miss out on games played at same time

If you watch Tennis you miss out on a choice of court to pick your match

If you watch Football you miss out on
1 Choice of Champions League Games
2 Choice of Highlights on Football First
3 Start of Spanish Football game at weekends

Also you miss out on other sport at weekends or other busy times when they have five sports and only 4 channels

I'd also consider how much HD channels matter to you, you get more via Sky but have to pay an extra £10 per month...

The bottom line is they all want your Phone, and BB if they can, you are unlikely to get the best they can offer without all three, but this is the best time to sign up, because when your 12 months are up you get cancellation deals from retentions which are incredible, simply because April is when they need high customer numbers for the boys in the city.

@Wilbert - cheers i'll check those out today

@Judio - I just don't want a dish stuck to the house, is that right though as I didn't know that about the interactive? Don't watch Cricket, only care about the big Tennis matches which will be main games anyway, the football points is a bummer but I can learn to live with those (you don't miss what you've never had)

@Razor - HD doesn't matter to me in the slightest, watching it on friends tvs I think it's massively overated

@FLB - Interesting point, so you think April 2012 i'll be in a good position to renew?

I'm only getting it now as i've always streamed games, watched at the pub or at friends, the last few times i've streamed i've picked up virus' and want games in my front room without the hassle of a stream going down or getting a virus so what I require in terms of sport is minimal (all Premiership games avaliable and English teams in the CL) anything else is a bonus and obviously at the lowest possible cost

cheers guys

BT Vision you will only get Sky sports 1 & 2 and ESPN and no red button and no HD - but its cheap.

If you want all SS channels Including 3 & 4) and SSN then you can rule out BT + yes you need phone and broadband too.

Has anyone ever seen the low-brow but hilarious Canadian films FUBAR or FUBAR 2? They are both mockumentaries in the This is Spinal Tap tradition, which isn`t to say they are as good as Spinal Tap, as that would be hard to achieve. FUBAR is the story of two Canadian hosers (Canadian term for hard drinking and partying stoners) being filmed by a documentary crew.
