Hi all

Like many peope I let Sky plus do all of the work over Christmas so the family could enjoy the various games Santa brought us all. However, it seems that we are missing the end of several of the programmes where the show has followed on a different channel.

Has anyone found a way around this? Sometimes I can find the end of the first show at the beginning of the next recording but certain circumstances don't allow that.

Thanks in advance

Options  Sky+ Setup  change Add to end (or start) of recording, (think the default is 2mins)

This will record more before and after the scheduled start and end of the program.

I'm having an issue too. And am going to be phoning Sky tomorrow to query it.

So others of you may have the solution though.... i have never been able to record 2 things at once, and when I spoke to the Sky engineer when he came to fit multi room for us he said it was probably because I was viewing something different to the 2 things I was trying to record. However, this weekend we weren't at home and set the sky+ box to record two things that were on at the same time. Neither recorded, and we get the word "clashed" next to them on our planner. Obviously the telly wasn't on when we were out so is there a legitimate reason for this cock up or do we have a dodgy sky box?

That only works if you aren't switcing to tape something else on another channel as the first programme ends. No way around it if so.

Sounds like a dodgy box but I'd check (is it on set up?) that you are actually getting 2 signals. I sometimes lose one and have to turn it on and off again.

I don't think I made my point well enough. Clashes could be happening because there are 3 or more overlapping programmes.

e.g. you are recording 3 x 1 hr programs.
BBC1 7pm Dr Who (default starts recording 6.58 stops 8.02) (Hits problem between 7.58 and 8.02)
ITV 8pm Xfactor (default starts recording 7.58 stops 9.02) (Hits problem between 7.58 and 8.02)
BBC2 8pm Top Gear (default starts recording 7.58 stops 9.02) (Hits problem between 7.58 and 8.02)

As there are only 2 inputs to your sky box and each programme records a bit before and a bit at the end you have a problem between 7.58 and 8.02. You can change the start recording time to zero and end to +2. Whilst this may cut a bit off the begining of a programme it will minimize the overlap described above so the recordings should look like this

BBC1 7pm Dr Who ( starts recording 7.00 stops 8.02) (Hits problem between 8.00 and 8.02)
ITV 8pm Xfactor (default starts recording 8.00 stops 9.02) (Hits problem between 8.00 and 8.02)
BBC2 8pm Top Gear (default starts recording 7.58 stops 9.02) (Hits problem between 8.00 and 8.02)

Alternative is to manually set the recording time Options  Manual Record

I take it the box was left on standby and not on another channel disimilar to those 2? Plus as murf aid you can check you've got 2 good signals via services>settings>signal.

Good point, another way is to start recording one channel, try and watch another for a few mins then play back your recording to see if it was ok.

That all sounds pretty logical to me and the only way of cutting down disruption to a minimum it seems. I appreciate the detailed response so thanks.
