BRORA GOLF CLUB

I suspect that is the team with the Dornoch Shield (Dornoch is 15 mins away and this is a Scratch team comp played for by the local clubs) from 2009. I only just moved here in June 2010 but I am hopeful that I might be in the next winning photo !!

That's my Sat Nav fully charged up. :D I won't be going to the Golf today bacause it's pouring down, so I'm going to spend the morning trying to get to grips with it.

Am I correct in assuming that I could pre-set all the destinations where I'll be going during the year and then just bring them up whenever required ?. For instance my first trip is at the beginning of April to play in the Fiso Welsh Open in Glamorgan, but on the way down I'll be skipping off the M6 to visit my Niece in Huddersfield for an hour or two. If I pre set it for Huddersfield (I've never been there before) and visit my Niece is it then just a case of bringing up Glamorgan on my pre-set programme and setting off again on my travels. This is beginning to sound rather complicated, (read the manual Pa I hear you say) :D

Probably but would depend on your machine.

I think I can set favourites on mine but I never bother. If I go somewhere a lot then I know the way (and where the cameras are  ) and if it is somewhere recent (e.g. a hotel I am a staying at or a site for work) then it is at the top of my 'recent destinations' list.

One tip -when setting your home address use your local town/village centre rather than your actual house. That way if your car gets nicked they can't be guided to your empty home and rob that too. I assume you are capable of finding your house from your village centre

Andy, why don't you play in the Fiso Scottish Open at Musselburgh this year on Friday the 15th of July. post1704485.html#p1704485

We are playing at The Lip's Course "Monktonhall" because he won it 2 years ago. Polarbear won it last year so next year we will be playing at his home course . If you come to Monktonhall and win it we cold all be at Brora in two years time. :D

Top tip, and you know Huddersfield is hardly just off the M6?

Don't leave it on show in your car when you park and leave your car. Put the sat nav in the glove compartment (or take the sat nav with you). Don't show that you have a sat nav in the car ie by the little sticky mark it leaves on the window.

Oops, I've just pieced together the Sat Nav holder unit with suction cup for my dashboard, it's quite easy to remove though .

I was quite surprised how small the Sat Nav actually is, it's about the size of a playing card.

The first thing thieves look for is the cradle on display, then the suction cup mark. Failing that, they smash the window anyway to look in the glovebox, as people think they are safe in there
Always take it with you and never leave anything on display.
We use satnavs in decoy cars at work and they always get taken, 100% of the time.

I'm travelling down to the Vale of Glamorgan on Saturday to play in the First Fiso Golf Society event of the season "The Fiso Welsh Open", so yesterday I decided to try out my new Sat Nav just to get the hang of it before I set off at the weekend. It is pretty user friendly and I soon got to grips with it, but the problem I have is that the cradle that holds the device won't stick to my dashboard as the suction cup won't grip. It's ok on my Kitchen table or any other wooden, glass or plastic surface, but it just won't stick to my dashboard. I ended up trying to wedge it into my drinks holder but I'm bound to cause a pile up somewhere if I have to keep looking down at it all the time.

Anybody have any tips ?

Glue some glass to your dashboard, stick it on that - unless you can you see any other glass surfaces from the driving seat - then consider using that.
