Five years ago my old Uncle James bought me a DVD Player for my Christmas and I've only now got round to taking it out of the box. Being the kind of guy who has to send for an electrician to unplug my TV I haven't a clue how to connect it up.

I notice that it has a scart output on the back, but I don't have a free scart input on my TV, but I do have one on my Digi Box. Is this where I connect it too ?

I have taken a photo of the back of the DVD player and I haven't the foggiest what the little coloured plugs are for, or do I not have to bother about them :?

You use either the Scart OR the coloured leads to connect up, I believe.

Not sure what connects to what though.

Could do with knowing what was on the back of the TV. You don't need to go scart to scart. You could go Component to Scart or Scart to component. Then theres all sorts of adapters too...

You can connect it to the spare scart socket on your digi box, it should work ok that way.

Thanks for the input guys, I'll give it a try after the Champions League game has finished. Any problems and I'll get back to you.
