El_Pappje 0 v 0 Spencer4

level after 90, level after extra time (goals scored) this one goes to penalties and El_Pappje triumphs on team value!

final next week will therefore be

El_Pappje v Jester

Cheers Malrom and bad luck. Lamps was a good choice as captain before today's game - who though AVB would go with that formation.... I didn't even notice Lampard in the first half.

Anyway, hope you manage to stave off relegation and who knows, maybe we'll meet in the league in......... Well, in around 2024 perhaps?!! :lol:

Something good came of my bber-sozzled state then - I mistook my figure of cash spent for cash left and that's how I ended up with 1.9m spare :lol:

Was sending it in at 1158pm so didn't have time to revise......deciding against RVP has sealed my relegation I think (back-to-back drops, too :cry:

).

Route to the final!

Both Jester and El_Pappje entered the cup at the first stage where Championship El_Pappje was drawn against L2 The Drogs Ballacks , should have been a formality for the experienced team but as both played their Chairman’s Bonus this went to squad value and El_Pappje eventually nicked the victory with the cheaper team of £24.6m!! League 2 Jester meanwhile was drawn against Leaguemate SOBD and recorded a confident victory

Final Qualifying Round
The Drog's Ballacks 2 v 2 El_Pappje
SOBD 0 v 3 Jester

Into round 1 proper and in comes the premier teams, El_pappje drew the short straw here and faced Primitive man from the Prem while Jester entertained Stuboy from L1. Both recording convincing wins.

Round 1
Primitive Man 1 v 3 El_Pappje
Jester 5 v 3 Stuboy

Round 2 now and having already took the scalp of one of the big boys, Premier league The Ledge was up next for El_Pappje. Jester, as in FQ, faced L2 opponent in the form of Golden Bear.

Round 2
The ledge 3 v 5 El_Pappje
Golden Bear 1 v 2 Jester

Quarter finals now and Jester’s turn for the trickier tie, in the form of Spinynorman from the Championship, while El_Pappje faced JaseC from the Conference . Jester’s tie went to extra time where he won courtesy of more goals scored (1 v 0). El_Pappje negotiated his tie with no hiccups.

Quarter finals
Jester 0 v 0 Spinynorman
JaseC 0 v 3 El_Pappje

Semi-final see both our guys face Premiership opponents, Jester taking on Malrom while El_Pappje played Spencer4. The latter went to extra time where El_Pappje won courtesy of the cheaper team for the 2nd time this cup run.

Semi Final
El_Pappje 0 v 0 Spencer4
Malrom 1 v 2 Jester

what happens in the final is anyone's guess, both have league issues to deal with, El_Pappje trying desperately to avoid relegation into league 1 while Jester has an outside chance of joining the same league via promotion from League 2.

Final Score - El_Pappje 0 - 0 Jester

to be fair it wasn't the most memorable final, both teams very tight at the back and both team's strikers struggling to justify their inclusion to their respective teams.

Level after 90 the game proceeded to extra time where another goalless period was endured by the watching crowds.

Penalties decided this game in the end and Jester emerged triumphant due to a cheaper team.

well played both, but big Congratulations to Jester!!

his reward for this cup win is a crack at the double and he will face Alcimedes this weekend for the Incidental Cup.

Well done El_Pappje for making it such a close game, even against my extra striker your inspired choice of a Swansea back five held firm. Nothing in it at the end really.

I had forgotten about the Incidental Cup - it will be tough against the Premier League Champ but I'll give it my best shot. Do I get to use my SOF as it wasn't really used this weekend.....?!! :wink:

Thanks to Barry for another well run competition, and may I suggest you bring in a new rule for next season - the Cup holder gets a bye in the early rounds the following season!!! :lol:

14 get a bye, currently the 10 prem teams and 4 selected at random. we could make it the cup winner, and the winners of leagues 1,2 and the Conference...(championship winner will be there anyway as part of the 10 premier managers)...... obviously, not for season 19 at that would just be cheating :lol:

That does make more sense than random picks. I don't personally have a problem with it starting from season 19 - despite the fact that Jester will benefit straight away I think it's deserved.

Quite like the idea of the Divisional winners getting the bye....but then I would!!

Now we've got that sorted, we just need to amend the amount of points divisional winners get for the hall of fame vs teams in the Premier League :wink:
