I don't know how many of you have seen the Sun Dream Team Elite Mini league ( run last season by Edmonson) or the one I ran for the World Cup....I’m trying to forget it

Basically its a mini league for bragging rights over who is the daddy of the sun dream team. There were 15 or 16 people in it this last year all paying £10 a team, but for this season I'll be running it and I want to get it ideally to 30-40 members so £400 in the kitty. I know thats a bit optimistic but I always go for the big un. Even better would be 60-70 people but I think that might be pushing it – we did get 196 entries for the World Cup Elite league but that was free to enter.

I'd be over the moon if a few of you put a team in Especially some of the main contributors on the forum. Its a tenner a team and there would be a decent prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd and a cup prize in case your team has fallen off the pace so to keep you interested.....it would be good to have a bit of banter about who is the best and I think by entering one team only it would be a laugh, i'll be doing weekly updates and hopefully it will breathe a bit of life into the sun forum and we can have a laugh at the same time and see who actually knows what they are talking about

So to summarise
- its one team per Fiso member - if you enter a second team you will be disqualified and lose your entry fee
I want it to be people who are genuinely interested and not ones who will sign up and not pay up.

- it costs ten pounds per team – you can pay me either through paypal, bank transfer, cheque or postal order. The easiest and safest option will be bank transfer/paypal, just pm me your email address and name, and I can send you the info.
I’d prefer not to give out my address incase I end up with pa pitching a tent up in my garden or dot taking a shit through my letter box

- You will have to enter a team in the sun’s game and once I have received your money I will pm you the league pin and password. IT WOULD BE BEST TO ENTER A TEAM WITH TRANSFERS INCLUDED NOT THE PICK AND STICK AS YOU'LL BE AT A DISADVANTAGE AS THE REST OF US WILL BE USING TRANSFERS

- I’d prefer the money to clear in plenty of time before the season so I don’t have to chase you up prior to the first game. I’m on my stag do from august 13th so the money needs to be cleared into my account by midnight on Wednesday 11th august - no entries will be accepted after this. This doesn’t mean you have to enter your team then you can enter it up to the first kick off on the day of august 14th but I want the cash by Wednesday 11th...understand that?

- It will start straight from the first kick off on the first day of the season so your teams must be in by the kick off of the first game. I’m afraid any teams entered after the first game cut-off point will not be valid. You will receive a refund of your £10 entrance fee but unfortunately you will obviously lose your sun entrance fee

- if this mini league wins any money, from the weekly/monthlies prizes then that money will be even distubuted to the top 5 members of the league by myself the chairman of the league.


You must include your fiso name in your team nameanyone not doing so will piss me off

- as it is done using the suns own site and scoring system there can be no arguments about points or scores being added wrongly

For those of you that do not know me. I have previously distributed winnings from mini leagues and if you are unsure about trusting me with money then I can pm you the names of moderators who can give me a reference It might not be a good reference but hey plus more than one of them knows my home and work address, phone number so be assured I won’t be doing a runner with all the cash ( well I will be having it as I doubt that anyone can pick a better team than me )

I hope that we get a few people and the target of 40 would be fantastic


What you need to do

Enter a team into SDT as normal (£5)
Declare your interest on this thread
Pay me your entrance fee, in exchange for the league details
Join the mini league (with one team)
Sit back and watch your team fight against other FISOers for money, AND the rights to claim yourself FISO SDT ELITE LEAGUE CHAMPION

What I am looking for

First and foremost, people I trust, that won't register interest, then not pay up.
I would like all entrants to be posters that make an effort to contribute to the forum. Not specifically aimed at SDT players, but all members that contribute their knowledge and advice to the FISO community.

Prize pool

There is money to be won for the top 3, and the winner of the ELITE CUP ( this depends on entries if there is more we could go for fourth, if there is less we might scrap third ) all to be decided by august 11th

League winner .....£220 55% if 40 people enter
Runner up £80 20% if 40 people enter
Third ...............£60 15% if 40 people enter

Cup winner ... £40 10% if 40 people enter

The cup will be a Wimbledon style cup. Highest versus lowest according to the league table on the first day of the cup tournament and a knock out format which is one legged game. The points for each team will run according to the suns scoring week Monday-Sunday. If any cup game is a draw it will be decided by goals scored that week and whose ever team has the most goals scored for will go through. If this is a tie then it will go on the most clean sheets

Any ideas or improvements for this are welcome as long as their sensible

Perhaps put it in massive writing to either have their team name to include their FISO username, unless you plan to have a little table that shows real names against usernames?

How about this - anyone who fails to use their FISO username in their team name will forfeit any potential winnings

But suppose somebody does what you did and change ID during the season? hmm?

Hopefully everyone is settled with their username....maybe world cup might change his but we'll still know who it is

I think you should be pushing this as the 1 team, even playing field, whole season, who is the best at SDT competition. The likes of Em, Stinky or whoever should be sticking their money where their mouth is and showing us all how easy it is, or how good they really are. Heck, let's get Tom 'telephone entry' UK involved as well

There is no championing your best team on the fiso boards with the Elite League, whilst keeping quiet about your 20 others that bombed. 1 team for everyone in the league for everyone to see, no hiding place.

Yoy should ask me before making sweeping comments so i can defend myself i entered 14 teams in the world cup dream team one finished 23rd one finished top 300 the rest all finished on around 500 points or over.....some people entered 100's of teams and still couldnt manage to finish above me....none of my teams bombed far from it

To answer your question no i aint in a tenner for a perhaps 400 pound reward seems poor i would rather go for the big one....

400 +- pounds looks pretty good em when you consider the amount of entries (presuming its around 40+-). The odds of winning This Elite League are far more generous than anything else you get for the fiver per team.

Put one in em
