In this thread I will update the Main Mini League progress and finalise the various groups for the 6 man Leagues following the Texas Valero Open from 14th April to 17th April . This thread is also for general chit chat and bragging rights.

As most of you will already know, Group 10 consists of Scottish based Challenge Tour Players.
This means we need to keep an eye on 3 tours now instead of just 2.
The 2011 Challenge Tour season is already up and running with 3 tournaments played. The tour is on a break just now and doesn't recommence until May.

PolarBear - I don't think any of the Challenge Tour is in the List of tournaments - they will only be scoring if they are in the main European Tour event that week.

just had another read at the rules and it states - "The Scotsman Fantasy Golf game is based on your player’s performance in tournaments on the 2011 PGA Tour, European Tour and Challenge tour (Group 10 only)."

However further down it states "Please note that group 10 are selected up and coming Scottish players (Scottish Hydro players) that play in the Challenge tour and some European Tour events . You will score points for these players as and when they play."

Looking at the list of tournaments, at present there is no Challenge Tour events listed.

Why can't they just perfect what they've got, rather than try and add something radical that will no doubt cause problems. They have a hard enough job getting the simple things right as it is. moan, moan, moan!!!!

Hmmm I've read through the rules again and I'm still not sure if Challenge Tour events count.

The five players in G10 will rarely play on the main European Tour. They will want to play as many Challenge tour events to try to get their tour card.

This is the part that needs clarification. I will email them and hope we can clear this up.

This is the part that I read, hence my original post. Like you Alex, I expect them to add them later when they realise that the G10 players will only be playing the main tour 2 or 3 times this season.

I think they are category 13 players (don't quote me on that) so very difficult to automatically qualify. Other than sponsor invites I can't see G10 players involved at all on the main tour (and let's be honest, they will struggle to make the cut) and to score they need to finish in the top 25 (I do recall Callum MacCauley finishing second on the main tour a couple of years ago when he first got his tour card. )

Hopefully they will add the Challenge Tour events to the list.

oh ffs. that is ridiculous. now we have to look at 3 events' lineups and scores instead of 2, just for one group.

and if they really want the Challenge Tour events to score, it is imperative that they add them to the points scoring list.

Winnettes Whingers finally managed to get their act together and joined the Mini League leaving us with a nice round figure of 48 giving us eight Groups of six.

This is the current Leaderboard showing the first split. The final split will be made after the Texas Valero Open and the Maybank Malaysian Open this coming weekend.

In saying that we usually find out that we are a man or two short at the end of the day so keep your eyes peeled on your Message In Box in case I have to get in touch with you.

If you didn't use all your 3 transfers last week there seems to be a small window of opportunity at the moment to get extras this week. Just done one myself.

So,

Silent Manager games (Scotsman, Yorkshire Post, Irish Times) are based on Crowne Plaza and Madeira Open but not the Volvo Matchplay.
What's the point of including the Madeira Open when there is no-one (apart from Michael HOEY in the Irish times) that is actually playing in it?

All the group 10 players are playing in Madeira. This is actually a Challenge Tour event. albeit with the biggest purse of the season.

It's a simple case of spending your transfers on players in the US event.

strictly, I've a feeling it's some sort of jointly-sanctioned main tour / challenge tour thing. it appears in the list of main tour tournaments. anyway, doesn't really matter.

also, as of just now, Gavin Dear is a few places below the cut off line and will only make the field with a few withdrawals.

There was a cut off date for joining the main league "Fiso Ball Busters" Abur, this was so that we could split it into lots of smaller Leagues when the time came. This however has all been sorted out and I will now let you into our "Ball Busters" league seeing as you have been doing the same to me about it.
