Nice one I am up to 9th overall. Shame Donald and Fowler finished poorly.

Would love to win a prize. A few tickets for some golf later this year would be nice.

Off to Ireland next week and noticed the Irish Open is on. Sadly its not at Royal County Down as staying down the street from the course. Couldn't really be much further away!

Can anyone advise, how many places get a prize in the "team of the tournament" league?

One our lads did well this weekend and is 10th for the week, he can't however get his hands on a newspaper as none of the local newsagents carry much of a stock and are consequently sold out.

According to their web site I think that there is just one prize. :|

Team of the Tournament

The highest scoring team at the end of the autumn league (18th August - 11th December) competition will win: Prize to be confirmed

Thanks Pa, a bit of confusion there, not your fault....I was referring to the weekly prize which the scotsman refer to as "team of the tournament" as far as the leagues go, and then refer to team of the tournament as the season league winner. The rules say the following;

Spring League
Weekly Prizes
The top scorers each week will win a prize stated in the Scotsman Newspaper.

Summer League
Weekly Prizes
The top scorers each week will win - Prize to be confirmed. See the weekly leaderboards on the site to see if you've made the top of the weekly ladder.

Autumn League
Weekly Prizes
The top scorers each week will win - Prize to be confirmed. See the weekly leaderboards on the site to see if you've made the top of the weekly ladder.

It also says on the home page this;

This week’s top scorer wins a fourball at Gleneagles with runners up winning tickets to this month’s Johnnie Walker Championship. In Tuesday’s Scotsman we also announce the winner of the Fantasy Golf summer league. They will be heading to Gleneagles with a friend for a two night stay and a round of golf.

also in claiming a prize it says; If your name is shaded in the newspaper then you need to call the fantasy golf hotline

I am assuming that the twenty names liseted on the website get a prize, would this be correct?

If they run it in the same way as the Yorkshire Post comp then it works like this :-

One weekly prize only (YP prize is a 30 minute swing analysis at a local club)

You can only win one weekly (or monthly) prize, therefore if the winner has a previous win then the prize goes to the 2nd placed player and then down to the 3rd / 4th if they have also won a weekly.

The YP prizes were allocated via the local club when I won my weekly prize and they contacted me directly via email about 3 months after I had won, although they did apologies for the delay as they had only just been given the information themselves (either from the YP or Silent Manager) so it may be quicker than this.

Regards

Rubik

ouch! the runner up prizes will probably be tickets to the Johnnie Walker at Gleneagles, and I already have a couple.

Anyone want free tickets and I'll claim them for you?

With unlimited transfers I think we might end up with a lot of similar teams this week.

Iv just noticed that the challenge tour event is already under way so a sneaky look at the leaderboard will give you a clue on who to pick in group 10.

Well blow me down.

Just checked this weeks standings following the Czech Open and Wyndham and my Son's team is sitting at 15th overall.

Can't last but may just focus my attention for a week or two until we start dropping down

Interesting to see that Gubbymade of NCG fame (or should that be infamy) has won the weekly prize in the Scotsman. :)

Slightly more believable picks this time?

With no Bjorn available to pick, he must have been heavy on the Barclays top tenners.

From what I can remember his Open picks were pretty unbelievable, but can you imagine the pain if he actually was kosher?

The good thing about the Scotsman game is that everything is transparant. You can see everyone's team before start of play each week.

I don't think NCG would have cancelled all his points unless they had proof positive something wasn't right.

Looks like the Scotsman and Silent Manager are out of step again. The Scotsman has announced this week that we have unlimited transfers when in fact we only have 2.

Can anyone tell me if it possible to validate a team for the week and accidently not nominate a captain?

If you transfer out your captain and you don't nominate a new captain, your team is legal. You simply don't get any bonus points.

I assume this happened to you this week?
Did you score any points?

I scored points for my team that did quite well but it fell back a lot in the standings.

Donald is captain and has been for a while now - transfers but not affecting him. Got cpatains points the week before but not this week.

Odd.

So you only got 315 points this week for Donald? If he has been your captain for the last few weeks (and still is) it may be worth contacted SM for clarification.

Don't know how they keep doing it but Paddy's wife is the top scorer this week.

'This week’s top scorer is in for a treat. They will win a round of golf for four at Gleneagles. Pick up a copy of tomorrow’s Scotsman (Tuesday) to find out if you are the lucky winner of this fantastic prize.'

Duncan in first place is also a FISO member Pa (dk401), though I don't think he's posted for a while.
