The only problem being that if you do actually win a prize in the Yorkshire Evening post you never actually get to see it - Even if you chase up Silent Manager 3 times.
I do have an alternative contact which has been supplied by our wonderfull admin on FISO but I have not had a chance to try this yet

SM just run the game. They don't provide the prizes. Per your post on the YEP topic De Vere have emailed you back within a few hours to confirm your prize.

I think it makes my current total in the Silent Manager games this year:
Scotsman: 1 x Weekly 1 x Monthly
Yorkshire Post: 3 x Weekly 1 x Monthly
Yorkshire Evening Post: 3 x Weekly 1 x Monthly

and hopefully i'm not done just yet

Isn't it a max 1 weekly/monthly prize in each comp? So just seasonal to aim for.

technically according to the T&C's it is... so why the Yorkshire Post continue to keep publishing my name as the winner is a bit of a contradiction

Just the Hong Kong tournament this week to focus on.

Consequently groups 1-5 have just 3 players active.

Used my two transfers to bring me up to 5 active this week. McIlroy was a straight forward enough decison to bring in. The other transfer was a toss up between Group 7 and Group 8. I opted to bring in Gallagher as I will be happy to take him with me as my option for the final week too, whereas whoever I would bring in to Group 7 this week would get replaced by a better option next week

Mcilroy (c), Yang, Poulter, Mcdowell, Gallagher

Yep got 5 as well , i thought hard about bringing McDowell in then opted for Jimenez (c) due to his past successes and maybe a jump on the field(FAIL)..... But at this stage i had to gamble...... 19th and falling.....

All the best to Dorf & BB.... :)

Well here we are at the final week of the season.

50% bonus and an extra transfer that nobody needs!

And for padmole who needs help with which players to pick - Garcia and Yang!

deadlines passed, did i do the right thing, who knows. here's a timeline of how mad this game can drive you 8-)

weds morning: Its clear what im going to do, Garcia, Donald in for my non-players and with the extra transfer a tinker... would like to have westwood instead of mcilroy... lets see what others do

8pm: time to study the opposition and find the diffs

1 backwoods George Jeffery 22410 +506pts
2 VW Golf Geoff Pryor 21904
3 The Rusty Nail aaron pirie 21498 -406pts
4 Sandmar Sandy Grant 21338 -566pts
5 Prizeputters Marion Hamilton 21080 -824pts

1st Dorf has two cards left to play
3rd changes made, means he has ramsay against my gallagher and mcdowell (c)
4th no moves yet
5th no moves yet

9pm - ok a quick check before the apprentice starts :)

1st Dorf has two cards left to play
3rd changes made, means he has ramsay against my gallagher and mcdowell (c)
4th no moves yet
5th westwood in as (c) and another ramsay to contend with

10pm - ok a quick check before the apprentice - you're fired starts on bbc two :D

1st Dorf Dorf Dorf, swaps ramsay for gallagher and brings in westwood (c)... hey thats going to look exactly like my team!
3rd changes made, means he has ramsay against my gallagher and mcdowell (c)
4th no moves yet
5th westwood in as (c) and another ramsay to contend with

11pm - time to consider my options for my final transfer with 4th yet to make their move. I still want westwood... but my main aim is to try and protect 2nd place. As things stand myself, 3rd and 4th still have mcilroy. Tell myself if 4th goes westwood I will, if he keeps mcilroy I'll stick with him too

11.45pm - 4th brings in kaymer (c)! thats thrown my plans out the window

its clear now, there is no perfect way to protect my position! It's time to go with my gut feeling and bring in Westwood. My aim all along has been to try and win a return to Gleneagles and I know that by going with my gut I can no longer catch Dorf. He has had the lead for so long I hope he goes on to do it (especially as that likely means I will be 2nd  )

time to get some sleep, good luck all

Interesting log Geoff...I remember reading "Crime and Punishment"...where the murderer describes what is going his mind before, during and after the murder...now we have what goes through the mind of a golf fantasy prognosticator as he's picking his team...I guess we'll be cheering the same team...hopefully they will come through for us.

Agreed, but hopefully it's not Silent Manager who are running it!
