This is how I'd like it to run, but everything open for discussion! I've been trying to think of a way of ensuring that luck plays as little part as possible, but that can only be achieved by playing more games!

SBW Playable games:
Bus
Hacienda (map 001, score as you go)
Hoity Toity
Santiago (basic spring layout, no palm trees)
Tikal (no auction, end-to-end worker movement)
Wallenstein (advanced province set up)

I think these are pretty much the vanilla versions of each game.

Each player chooses one SBW game to avoid, so each player will play five different SBW games.

If any SBW game has fewer than 3 players wishing to play it, the game will be removed from the list, and so each player will play four different SBW games.

For each SBW game, a number of matches will be created with one player sitting out of each. For example, if five players wish to play Bus then five 4-player matches will be contested.

If all six wish to play Tikal, 3 x 4-player matches will be contested with two players sitting out of each (you can't have a five player Tikal).

Championship Points (CP) for each game will be calculated as follows:
* Winner receives 100 CP
* All other receive a percentage (rounded down) of their points compared to the winner's points plus 1.
This will mean those finishing second on a tie-breaker will receive 99 CP.

For each SBW game, the number of CP is averaged for each player. e.g. bspittles played 4 games of Tikal scoring 100, 25, 37 and 61 CP, so his final Tikal score is 223/4 = 55 CP.

The total number of CP from each of the 5 (or 4) SBW games is calculated, and the winner declared.

All thoughts very much appreciated. There will have to be a slight rethink if more than six want to take part. It would be great if we could get another couple :-)

That looks excellent. Can we have Reef Encounter as one of the playable games though. It's so much more strategic than Tikal or Hoity Toity.

Sounds great to me too b-spit, I'm happy with adding Reef Encounter as it will give me an easy choice of which one to avoid  .

We can add Reef Encounter, but it would be an additional game rather than a replacement. I'll have a think about how that will effect the dynamic.

I think at least two others need to support the proposal... anyone like to second and third it?

(I've never played it, so will abstain)

No support for Reef, sorry WHATEVER.

I'll try and set up the games this lunchtime.

Reef encounter is worth persevering with. I didn't get it at all in my first game because I could not work out how the different actions combined to gether but now I realise it's much more tactical than most of the other games on the site.

I think one of the problems with SBW is that nothing on the board is labelled, and the rules never contain images of what the board looks like. It took me AGES to work out was was going on in tikal! I have a game of REEF going on at the moment, and even with the rules in front of me, I don't have a clue.

Ashes has selected Santiago. Game details will be up early next week, unless I can get an hour on the laptop over the weekend!

Just one thing about the Wally games, I've noticed I put Advanced province set up. I meant the version where players select their settlements before the fighting/gathering of resources/building starts.

I suspect I should have said Basic set up. Can someone confirm my mistake?

OK, all the games I'll be playing have been created and WHATEVER and fancy dan have been asked to create the others.

The password to each is peaches, and the comment on the game says who should be playing in it.

Let me know if you spot any problems, or can't join a game you should be in.
