Game rules:

Simply select the four USA and three European Wildcard selections for the Ryder Cup - one point is given for each correct selection. Also, enter a prediction for the finishing position of Tiger Woods* in The Barclays as a tie-break (joint second = second etc.). Simples.

Deadline for entries (and subsequent edits) is 00:00 BST on Thursday 26th August. (Obviously there's an added complexity to think about in that the automatic selections for the European team won't be confirmed as of then!)

* This assumes that Tiger Woods is playing in The Barclays. If not, the tie-break will be predicting the finishing position of the player who is highest in the World Rankings as of the start of the event.

Prize: a sleeve of three Srixon AD333 balls

Updates: may be delayed to the arrival of mini Mr Green

Example entry (i.e. mine):

USA 1 - Rickie Fowler
USA 2 - Zach Johnson
USA 3 - Anthony Kim
USA 4 - Tiger Woods

Europe 1 - Luke Donald
Europe 2 - Padraig Harrington
Europe 3 - Paul Casey (previously Edoardo Molinari - although I'd personally prefer the Italian to get the nod)

Tie break - 20th

Good luck!

If this were to be the case, then the tie-break would then be to predict Phil Mickelson's finishing position in the same event instead - entrants are welcome to edit their entries until the aforementioned deadline and we should know the situation with Woods for sure by Friday evening.

I am pretty sure it was an interview, where he confirmed it.

In the event of a tie-break not being submitted (as per Lister - see above), the tie-break answer will be inserted as "1".

Just a reminder that edits are permitted until the entry deadline of 00:00 BST on Thursday 26th August - indeed, I may do just that myself...

As an additional tie-break, and assuming Woods will get the call, maybe we should predict the WAG to accompany him to the opening/closing ceremony - I bet his (ever-shrinking number of) sponsors will be keen for his mum and/or daughter to attend!

Entries are as follows (those marked in red missed the deadline):

Woods is the most popular selection, while Van Pelt, Dyson and F Molinari have been selected by just one person.

Good luck!

Amazing, 21 entries and no-one picked all three Monty picks

The odds on any of us picking the 4 US picks must be huge
