I assume that he will be transferred out after GW1. He's value should drop by 0.1 And he can be bought back after GW2, so u end up making a small profit? Is this correct??

In theory, yes.

That might happen. Or the 19% gets some red card/injury that's more urgent and decides not to use two free transfers getting someone else for GW2

It's true that you might pay 0.1 less for him if he drops. But if he has a good GW1, expect those that do have him to find room on their bench for him.

So maybe hold back on Fabregas also

The 19% ownership means that more people have to transfer him out for his value to go down, as last year falls in price were based on the number of people who owned them rather than a static figure around very approx 11000 Net Transfers In for a price to go up.

This gives us with Van Persie a bit more safety, as does the fact that last season transfers in and out didn't seem to count for the first few days of the season. (I remember this cos 4 of my midfielders scored and none of their prices went up as much as I thought they should.)

So I think he might not drop 0.1m. I hope.

In that same breath, you could use your wild card to snap up any potential price risers i.e Gerard, Geremi etc

I think the chances of RVP's price going down after GW1 is small, for the following reasons:

1. Remember that while there may be a million or so players by kickoff a fairly sizable proportion of those are not quite as robbie keen/sad as us and are unlikely to even notice that he's not playing in GW2!
   
2. He may well score plenty of points against Fulham in the opening match and if he does people are unlikely to want to get rid of him!
   
3. People are more likely to replace players who did not play in GW1 or those who performed badly or got injured - think they're more likely just to drop RVP to the bench for GW2
   
4. Arsenal have some nice fixtures in GW3-5 so doesn't make sense to transfer him out and then back in
   
5. Around 150,000 managers have RVP in their squad at the moment. That means around 13,500 (9%) of those would have to get rid of him to see a drop of 0.1 if the price change formula is the same this season. See: cracking the code
   
6. There are only a few days between the first 3 GWs so not much time for price drops... and in any case prices may well be frozen again for the first 7 days (See: cracking the code)... which makes all the previous points redundant!!! Wish I'd thought of this one first!

For some of the same reasons Jimbo lists (although in my head they were just a big mush and not so delineated and organized) I've planned on just dropping RVP to the bench...but I imagine I'll hold my transfer for a bit just to see if he's shedding managers, in the case there's a chance of picking up a mil by buying him back at a lower price.

It helps that I can still field 11 on GW2 with him on the bench, so that worry is out of the way.

i got big plans (high hopes) for van persie this year and he will be the mainstay of my team !
