I've not seen anyone else mention this, so apologies if they have, but looking at Rooney's 2 assists vs Bolton, Welbeck definitely gets a touch on the first one before the ball reaches Scholes, and the 2nd was without question played by Wheater and not Rooney. OK, the first one was arguably not a major deflection and maybe Rooney deserved the assist, but we've already seen similar assists to this already this season - I certainly recall Adebayor getting one like this.

Take away Rooney's two assists, and he scores 0 for the game instead of 6, so quite a difference. I might drop FPL an email...

you can dream, i am guessing someone in your mini league has rooney as captain. or you just went out of the cup due to rooneys assists.

if you watch them in slow motion its clear welbeck doesnt get a touch and it was rooney who did the final ball.

i know your clutching at straws and seeing things through clouded goggles but you have zero chance of getting either of them changed

And you're saying the 2nd one is a Rooney assist? I think not. First one, I'd say yes.

Both should be removed.

As a measure if fairness and consistency FPL should remove both.

The 2nd comes off Wheater. The first clips Welbeck.

It's clear as day, even fantasyfootballscout say this.

It appears your the one clutching at straws.

I am emailing FPL.

Fair enough, of course someone in my mini league has Rooney as captain :D , but I'd question your eyesight if you can't see the deflection by Welbeck on Scholes goal - watch it again from the side on angle which is in line with the 6 yard box - Welbeck touches it no question. Whether it's an assist is a different question, but we've seen em given before.

welbeck doesnt change the flight of the ball at all. and NO i do not have Rooney but i am a utd fan and can see whats an assist and what is not. all you have fun emailing fpl as you have no chance.

i was at the game and i have watched it a number of times, i have welbeck in my team but i am not clutching at straws

It does change the path of the ball a slightly, taking it behind Scholes which actually makes it a better finish. I'm not expecting FPL to change it though, but if they don't change the 2nd one, well that's a farce.

Haha at Rumsey.

What a load of bull. I don't for one second believe you have Welbeck and not Rooney.

The trajectory does change, the ball even picks up a bobble when Welbeck touches it.

I have been on the wrong end of decisions like this a few times this season. I've emailed them, if they get removed I am going to laugh so hard.

This is what I said.

Hi,

I am contacting regarding Wayne Roobey being credited with 2 assists.

In the view if fairness and consistency I think both assists should be removed.

As you can see by looking at the YouTube video in the link.

The 1st replay of the 1st goal shows the ball taking a slight nick of Danny Welbecks toe before Scholes puts the ball in.

The 2nd goal is actually played to Welbeck via Wheater as he comes round the back of Rooney he attempts to win the ball and kicks it into the path of Welbeck.

Like I say, I have been on the wrong end of decisions like these a lot this season. So in the view of fairness and consistency I think both need to be removed.

Many Thanks

I've also emailed them regarding both in protest. I eagerly await their reply and subsequent removal of any bonus points he's also been credited with as a result of 2 wrongful assists.

I was NOT at the game, saw it on the TV.

I do NOT have Rooney and will gain or lose nothing either way.

I will NOT be emailing

I think both were NOT Rooney assists.

8-)

the first goal the ball has spin on it, welbeck does not touch it

the second its a combination of rooney and the defender that play the ball, therefore also an assist

as for if theyre removed i will laugh so hard i suggest getting out more

I hope they're both removed as my main rival captained him this week. If they're not I won't lose any sleep over it.

I have no problem with you but that's funny coming from someone who usually has a lot to say about assists not going their way.

I will laugh so hard at all you deluded people who have Rooney trying to make a case for his assists.

What's my rank got to do with anything?

Your starting to sound a little bitter.

I want them removed in the view of fairness.

As I had RVP(c) when his assist skimmed Gervinhos shin and got removed.

EXACTLY.

Didnt Gareth start a thread about VDVs goal about 2 weeks after a GW ended saying the shot was off target before it was deflected.

That was over 2 points. Not 12 or 6.

58 seconds absolute no chance there was a touch, the ball did not change its flight at all.

Lol.

It must be sad to be so blinded.

It's clear as day. If you genuinely can't see it I suggest going to the opticians.

No offence to you, but you need specs if you cannot see that ball move.

Personally, I don't think it moves becauase of Wellbeck, because I cannot see any conclusive proof that he touches it, and that's what is important here, not the fact that it appears to change direction. I think it hits the ground just in front of him and spins off a little.

I actually don't expect any to be removed as I have never had so much bad luck.

On a side note Opta only credited Rooney 1 assist.

If 1 gets removed I will be happy

you sound a bit OCD on it, especially as youre basing it on some grainy youtube video

where are you overall? is it gonna make that big a difference to you or are you just bitter coz theyve gone against you in the past?
