Anyone knwo of any way to get better deals at ROKO. Specifically length of being tied in and also cost. My wife is looking to joing but I'd rather a 3 or 6 month join in case she doeasn't like it or doesn't get time to use it.

Options offered:

1 – 1 off payment of £647.40 gives you 15 months for the price of 12 which equates to £43.16 per month over 15 months

2 – pay £53.95 per month with a £10 joining fee which equates to the same amount overall but you don’t get the 3 months free.

Either option you are tied into a 12 month contract.

There is something you can do, as long as you nor the Mrs are already known by the health spa:

1. To do this you must speak to the manager directly - nobody else will be able to help
2. You or the wife need to call the centre and ask to speak to manager. If not about, ask when they will be on duty and call back
3. Explain that you live in Manchester (or somewhere that ROKO don't have a gym) and that due to your job, your are being relocated to the local area for a 6 month period. You can throw in the possibility of being extended for longer in the area but your Employer has indicated an intial 6 months guaranteed.
4. Explain that going to the gym is an important part of your lifestyle (or something that makes it sound like you're serious) and ask if there is a way you can sign up a member but only have a 6 month contract. Obviously butter them up with comments like "If I know I'll be extended to stay on, then I'll obviously let you know ASAP" or "I was recommended to speak to ROKO as you have fantastic facilities - wish you had a gym where I currently live" and "hope you understand that I want to keep my healthy lifestyle up, just can't commit for a year's membership when I might go back home and a 70 miles round trip to York is a little too far" (if you choose the 'I'm from Manchester' route)

Now just pray that Roko's manager isn't a FISO fan

and straight from their website:

At Roko Nottingham you can commit to your fitness long term and get the best value when you buy a 12 month membership. But if you are new to fitness or want to test the water first, you can join on a non-fixed length membership with a 3 month notice period. Or finally, if you are only in the area for a short time, you can buy a non-fixed length membership with a 1 month notice period

They may ask for a letter from your employer showing this. Sure between us we can come up with something for you
