First post, although I have read a good few threads here over the last week.

any thought's on my team? I took an 8 point hit last week due to making transfers after a few beers & concern about players dropping/rising in value.

Image
...currently (after utd game & bonus points) on 58pts for the gw & 203pts for the season (inc gw3 & points hit) with 2 players left.
...value on pitch = £100.5 ...in the bank = £.8

I am thinking about getting rid of Higginbotham & Petrov (another 4 point hit) and bringing in Walcott and a cheap defender or Richards and a cheap midfielder.

all opinions welcome & thanks.

Hi, I like your team,
when I first joined FISO the first advice was not to take points hits, that changed last season with the snow and double gameweeks, but I think you could try and not  use your transfer this week and do your two the following week.
there are are only a few points in it to improve your overall rankings at this early stage.

Thanks for the reply, yeah, I read this thread after I made last weeks transfer's but I still think it worked in my favour...

Arteta - dropped by .1  Bale - risen by .2/scored 2 points
Valencia - dropped by .1/didn't play  Scholes - risen by .1/scored 3 points
Mouyokolo - hasn't played/shocked he hasn't dropped  A Cole -risen by .1/scored 6

I will lose out on any points (over 4) that Petrov & Arteta get, but have added to my spending power. I'm not chasing profit over points but last year I had a very poor start & let a couple of players rot on the bench - i felt this later on in the season.

A 4-point hit to sort out your bench is probably a bad idea.

I didn't make or lose any points after taking the hit & increased my value by selling before players before the dropped & visa versa.

I've already made my transfer; Higginbotham  williamson (before higg's dropped to £4.4) & here is my (provisional) team for gw4

Petrov is top of my 'ship out' list along with Jagielka, Dawson, Harewood, & a gk for gw6.

evans and dawson are definately out..
so u might want to change them
or if u go in with jagielka, willamson and cole ..thats ok for now ..
but u will need to get dawson and evans out qucikly before they drop in value

Before you get yourself into a panic, Jonny Evans has a pulled groin and there is no news (that I've seen) stating he is definitely out of United's next game. Should also note that currently Evans is up in people transferring him in this week - only 948 at time of writing - so you don't need to jump that ship quite yet as it's unlikely we'll see a price drop in Evans this week.

As for Dawson, we know he is out but he is currently red meaning he needs 20% of his owners to get rid of him (approx 108,716) currently only 12,950 have so far.

It doesn't mean they won't by the time Gameweek 4 starts but don't be taking the 4 point or 8 point hit purely to save yourself 0.1 million. Not sure what you have in the bank, but if you can hold off selling Dawson till next Gameweek (although you'll probably need to do that about 12pm on Saturday to prevent losing too much value  ) you'll be able to replace him, hopefully without a price drop but worst case scenario 0.1 drop.

Still not worth 4 point loss imho

Evans may not play even if fit as Rio may return, though unless SAF indicates this at the pre-match press conference,Evans is unlikely to drop in GW4.

Worth keeping a close watch on him therefore, but selling him at 12pm on Saturday would not be a smart thing to do,as prices only change once a day, after midnight (@ 2am BST recently) and if Rio plays and gets crocked,Evans would be back in the frame.

I tend to agree, especially when it comes to a defender.

I have 1.2 in the bank.

agree 100 percent - apart from the fact that FISO - Crack the Code -is not 100 percent accurate in determining Rises & Falls - And i have learnt it the hard way !

I said Evans is definately out becoz of 2 reasons 1) rio played in the reserves last week and ole says he is fit and ready to go directly into the first team
2) evans has most probably done his groin ( not confirmed)

Yes , its not necessary to take the point hits now - because optimistically - u can only expect a +4 ( clean sheet ) and that gets nullified when you take the hit
so all in all , you stand to gain nothing .

i just said to get them out , because i lost money on players - when crack the code told me that they were never gonna drop ..

if you know they have little chance of making the XI , then i would rather jump the gun - and take a bold decision to pick some1 who i know will definately play and has far greater chances of a clean sheet ( newcastle defs in IMO )
crack the code - is very very good - and very very helpful - but nto a 100% accurate .

grrrr.... only 36 points with no one left to play :( the bonus points have not gone through yet - I was working all day so don't know how they will fall.

thinking I am going to drop Harewood & bring in Dembele.
Obviously Dawson & Petrov are still on the 'get rid' list...
opinions please.

i scored abt 44 that bumps me to 198 - But still falls short of the 200 Benchmark that i had set for me by GW4 at the start of the season ..

no need to take 4 point hit just yet ..for u..

just wait n watch ( without the beers :P )
