As promised,.. my team for the weekend:

Gordon

Geremi
Garrido
Evra
Finnan

Lampard
Fabregas
Downing

Tevez
Owen
RVP

I'm fully aware that Lampo and Finnan are doubtful, so Baines and Smertin lie in wait. For this reason, i would be disappointed if you picked one of those as captain.

Now, just because i'm a big threat to that lead of yours don't be picking anyone silly

A response before Saturday 10am would be appreciated

That's a no brainer Aldo. Owen(c). Not a bad side (never as good as mine right enough), but many of your top players have difficult games :D . As i say, Owen it is. Now, where's that prayer mat so i can start praying for Owen's hammy to do what it normally does

The Lord has spoken,.. the 'c' has been placed beneath the wee guy

However, any information leading me to believe he is NOT playing will result in a change

Thanks for your input :D

To quote Merielle from the Owen thread in FPL forum.

Big Sam on Owen:

Quote:
"I hope it continues on from here and he has recovered enough to continue where he has left off with England at Derby on Monday."

However, Allardyce will assess Owen in training on Friday as he considers his selection for Pride Park with Mark Viduka fit after a hamstring injury and Obafemi Martins and Shola Ameobi champing at the bit.

The former Real Madrid man's recent injury history means the manager will take no chances with him.

Allardyce said: "The last thing we would want now is Michael to pick up another injury through fatigue, but I hope that's not the case.

However, Owen is not guaranteed to start Newcastle's clash with Derby on Monday, as Allardyce is concerned about burn-out and wants to protect his player.

"I hope he has recovered enough to continue where he's left off with England at Derby on Monday," said the Magpies manager.

"But I have to have that assessment tomorrow and make sure he's not suffering with anything that might cause a problem.

"The last thing we would want now is for Michael to pick up another injury through a fatigue situation, but I hope that's not the case."

So he's not a definite starter either... :?
