On WC at mo and it seems the last piece of the jigsaw is whom of Micah Richards or Vincent Kompany to bring in as my main defender, whom will play week in week out. Ignore VK's suspension this week because my defence covers this problem. So long term VK will play more and occasionally kicks in with a goal or two but comes across as more of a defensive type.
MR, though is a differential amongst the leagues and IMO much more of an offensive players but (why is thier always a but....) his injury record is a wee concern.

Richards and bring in Kompany when he returns?

Only enough space for 1 MC defender. Has crossed my mind but would also leave me with 4 defenders over £5.5m.

Not sure Droughton meant bring in Richards, but then transfer out Richards for Kompany when Kompany has completed his suspension?

In answer to your question though, I'd pick Kompany. I've had Richards most of the season and his injuries are frustrating. I've dumped him with my WC this week.

You kind of made the decision yourself in your OP. Kompany is more sound defensively but Richards is more likely to get the bonus points from the assist or goal here and there due to him pushing forward more. I am sure at the end of the season there won't be much difference in their point total but it seems to me that Richards has more potential points at a cheaper price. But with Kompany your not sweating if richards is going to play 90 minutes every week. I made the switch from Kompany to Richards on the first Red Card and it has been a stressor ever sense!

Thanks for the feedback. My desire for Richards is blighted by trying differentials but have enough as it is so will *probably* go for Kompany.

Mind you on the Old Speckled Hen so good knows what i may wake up to in the morning and rarely get time to tinker on a Saturday morning due to work commitments.

Am I right in saying Kompany will be back for next week against Everton? He'l have missed two league games and the two semi final legs.
