That's interesting,it must be that they are competitive only on certain shavers then,as in the last Which review of shavers,Boots were listed as the cheapest for one model.

It just further illustrates what a price jungle there is out there for the unwary/uninformed.

btw Chuck,if you click on the X box in your duplicated posts, they'll vanish, and this one of mine will appear back on page 1

Agree with him it will take few days to use to it.......

Keep us posted on your experience as you get past the first month's use Chuck,as there are no doubt a few people interested.

In the Daily Mail special offer advert I mentioned originally(59.99 free P&P),after highlighting the features of flex and pivot technology, the next feature read

" Four position slide up trimmer effectively deals with any longer hairs" - have you tried using this yet ?

yeh, used it on the stray neck hairs I mentioned but it can easily nick the skin so easy does it, works lovely on chin and cheeks

ah, also plugged the adaptor into my home bathroom socket and it cut the power twice, so had to trip the switch in the box back, don't fancy trying to plug it into the work one just incase the whole building goes :?

:? ...that's a bit of a mystery, given that it has automatic worldwide voltage selection !

It's good job it comes with a 2 year guarantee then - are explosions covered by your home insurance policy ?!

I'm gonna try and get a wall plug adaptor for it at the weekend and see if that makes any difference, tempted to plug it in at work and play dumb if anything should happen!

I use the 2>3 prong adaptor when charging mine. It's probably some sort of anomaly of that bathroom socket so less likely to happen in a big office building. It's happened recently in our home having to re flick the fuse switch which was nothing to do with shavers.Seems to have stabilised now with the minimal use of nearby sockets.

adaptor was only 65p on Amazon incl postage so lets see if that helps, still not getting much luck around the neck with the shaver :(

After several years trusty service my old razor broke last week - the beard trimmery bit stopped working and after I took it apart it had no chance of ever working again.

I did look at the Remington thanks to this thread but went for this Braun instead:

Has the shaver got used to you yet chuck or will that take onger than a month?

Seriously how bad did the rash get? Did it peak at day 10 etc?

thinking of getting one Wilbert?

the rash did get bad enough one side of my neck that i couldn't shave for a week which the boss was not amused by, it brought up a few spots and was rather sore, that was after a week or so, then once it went down it shaved perfectly well, recently the occasional shaving spot appears even though i apply shaving moisturiser after, some days great and some days irritating but i'll muster on with it. Considering wet shaving once a week so there's less work for the razor to do

Thanks for the update chuck, I am thinking about it.

My ming the merciless lookalike events and my Elvis impersonator nights require me to have facial hair though so the control for the sideburns would be different with an electric razor? In addition I can't appear on stage in spots

are you serious?
it has an attachment for shaping re the sideburns
I don't wanna over exagerate the spots, they're not that bad but they have appeared if only slightly, I mean I had two 2 days ago and now they're gone so it's not like acne or anything, maybe my skin is over sensitive?

Started using non electric triple blades as the Remington went very blunt all of a sudden to where it was taking no hair off at all.No cuts noticed using ordinary shaving foam so may continue that way.
