Do doubt this will be done in the future in the name of big bucks but if you had to recast Star Wars today with current actors who would you pick in the key roles ie

Luke Skywalker
Darth Vador -
Obi Wan Kenobi
Han Solo
Princess Leia

Myself I feel a pretty good cast would be as follows


Luke Skywalker - Haley Joel Osment
Obi Wan Kenobi - Sean Bean
Han Solo - Johnny Depp
Princess Leia - Shakira
Darth Vader - Michael Clarke Duncan

Would be a A list cast and would no doubt cost a lot more than the original

Star Wars largely worked because the cast were (near) unknowns and carried no baggage.

How about and all-British comedians cast:

Luke Skywalker - Simon Pegg
Obi Wan Kenobi - Rory Bremner
Han Solo - Russell Brand
Princess Leia - Tamsin Greig
Darth Vader - Frankie Boyle

I could go on....

Like it - I don't like Tamsin Greig though. Miranda Hart could send that role up nicely.....

Stephen Fry as Obi Wan Kenobi. His mate Hugh Laurie could go back to his Blackadder/Wooster ways to voice C3PO
