Surprised Kompany got a 6, but sort of glad. Got to seriously consider bringing him in at TW1, might be foolish not to. Happy to have Hart though, 26pts from just 3 games is quite fetching!

To be fair these ratings aren't as bad as having to listen to tonight's commentators talk about how much quality man city have got. That was sheer torture! Man city won't finish in the top 2, FACT!

Have the Sun got something against Kompany?!?!?

His ratings are beyond a joke!!

In the first week he made the NOTW Team of the week and gets a 6 from the Sun!!

Tonight he was head and shoulders above Kolo and Kolo gets a 7 and Kompany a 6!!! JOKE!!!

They'll get found out when they play a lot of average teams that stay compact and organised.

They're different papers.
Different reporters.
Different opinions.

What have Sky Sports awarded them?
Or the Mirror?

The only one that matters is The Sun.

I tend to notice that top teams with cheap defenders will get harsh ratings, they were obviously priced low as the Dreamteam guys thought they may not be first choice and struggle to get decent ratings.

Ivanovic was a good example last year and still this year. I predict Kompany will be the lowest scoring regular defender for City.

Insua also an example (although he was shite  ) and I am sure there are many more examples from recent seasons.

Its as if you are punished for picking OBVIOUS bargains rather than gambling on some random mid to bottom table 1.5m player that the Sun decide they will give a 7 rating to just for turning up

You only have to look at half of the "discussions" on here to see how different opinions can be.

I watched the game as well and to pick him out as the only man City player not to score 7 is ridiculous.

Definitely deliberate.

You're in a stinker tonight Em.
Its my shower of $hite that I have just witnessed looking ordinary and outclassed.

Which ratings (Dunn and Kalou aside) have been so outrageously bad?

so true. you see I personally dont understand the obsession with oliver wraights information and so on, but a lot of others do. difference of Opinions is what forums are about. how boring would it be if everyone thought the same :!:

I think some of the marks were generous.

I'd agree with Kompany and Lescott getting 6's to be honest.

Not too sure on De Jong and Toure getting 7's - borderline 6's for me. But nothing scandalously bad. Milner 9 seems a bit excessive (but 3 or 6 and 7 or 10 makes no difference to me).

Fits the headlines does the star man, just as the Balotelli one did.

I will BUMP the fact that Kompany only getting a 6 is a disgrace.

I had him down at least a 7, easily an 8...he won everything at the back and his distribution was excellent.

Not to mention he is in my top team....FACKERS! :x

You english and your bias

that's a huge generalisation herc lol. everybody can accuse the reporters of being something. weather, its English, a northerner, a utd fan or whatever. I doubt the reporter being English has anything to do with it. I haven't looked who the reporter actually was, but he or she was probably one of the reporters having a go at the England team in the summer.

Howard did the ratings last night and he is one of the more objective. I can't have too many complaints about the ratings to be honest, most are spot on.

Anyone complaining of a Kompany 6 please feel free to put yourself in the shoes of an Ivanovic owner.

For years he's been getting 6s no matter how excellent and effective he has been.

Ivanovic would need a hat-trick and a few assists to get a 7 one might feel

This is why the sun game is, get a pool of players and combine and hope like hell. you will never eradicate this rating problem stinky. that's why, even though I am really impressed with how the sun have ironed out the glitches this season, and started the technical side of the game near on perfect, without any data mistakes of that I know of, The ratings will always be odd. when it comes to the ratings you, we, or whoever has to accept, adapt, or email DW. knowing the reporters favourites and whatnot has always been a skill on this game, but which reporter gets which game is anybodies guess.

The whole City defence "deserved" 6 in my opinion as they had very little to do, Ngog and Torres were isolated and neither of them are exactly pulling up trees are they?

So the issue here is not so much Kompany's 6 as Toure's 7

Either way its an "opinion" thing rather than an objective cock up like Kalou's 5 at the weekend or Dunn's 7/10 for 9 minutes

Maybe there's some validity then in those 6s for Kompany and Lescott after all, Joe Hart was called upon AGAIN to make some fantastic saves to keep the clean sheet, which clearly demonstrated to the reporter that the defence was penetratable again.

On that evidence, the Sun are probably correct in ther marking of the defence. Liverpool's defenders got 5s which also looks fair.
