I puzzled whether I should transfer out Petrov or not. I feel he is my weakest link in that position as I always play 4 in mid(others being ronaldo, lampard, fabregas). Specifically I am interested in Bentley considering the double week coming up. I was definitely going to do it if I hadn't bought Petrov when he was 6.6 (now 7.3).

What you think? Or is he just going through a bad patch and over the course of the season he will outscore bentley? Some people think he will even outscore Elano?

Thoughts?

I switched him out for Bentley because Blackburn have the better run.

bentley definetly proved himself in FFL last season and seems to be doing well this season, however, IMHO Petrov will outscore him season long - he's an amazing player - if you watch him play you will see that he gets involved in most attacks, sets up goals and hasa lot of amazing shots thathave just gone wide or been amazingly saved. He will hit the back of the net soon without a doubt. plus remember he takes corners and some free kicks!! both are a good bet tho...this is a tough one. IMHO it would be just a tinker though

He's got an uncanny shots per game ratio for a Man City Left Midfielder but since the emmergence of Elano's goalscoring prowess, he's gone a bit quiet. He'll still do well, but you're other option Bentley will probably do better IMO as he's Blackburn's star player- takes set peices, scores goals, gets assists, has a double, plays for a team that has secretly stuck into a UEFA Cup spot... Blackburn are also out of the UEFA Cup which will keep fitnesses higher and with good aerial presence from McCarthy, Cruz etc. he should do even better than last season.

If you are looking for midfielder with double GW (instead of Petrov) don't forget Barry - even when he's not getting penalties, etc he is up there with Fabregas for adding some bonus points into his score. And this week v B'ham appeals more than Blackburn at Old Trafford.

I had both Bentley and Petrov and decided to swap Bentley for Lampard. It's a close call between them, but I just think that Petrov is more of a key player for Man C than Bentley is for Blackburn. Most Man C attacks involve Petrov, but Blackburn have the double game week :? Time will tell.

There's a chance that Vassell will start on the left and Petrov will move into central midfield in place of the injured Johnson, if Mr. Pink is to be believed.

Can't see that happening to be honest. I would think Ireland will play centre with petrov and Vassel on the wings.

The way I see it, its not necessarily about who is a better player between Bentley and Petrov, its more about who they have around them.

I think by the end of the season, BR will score more goals than MC. They have an extremely powerful forward line. La Liga viewers will know McCarthy's potential when he played for Celta Vigo. I also highly rate Santa Cruz. He is a player that isn't so well known in the premier league because he isn't a world superstar and he doesn't catch the transfer headlines but he is a fantastic player who will surprise this season as there isn't so much pressure on him to perform as there was at Bayern Munich. For the record, RSC played 156 league games for bayern and scored 31 goals. Not exactly prolific but RSC can be quite injury prone IIRC and i think much of that time would be coming in and out of injuries.

Because BR have a stronger forward line and BR are more attacking minded, Bentley will get the opportunities.

Petrov is also a fantastic player but with Elano doing so well, perhaps the team may be focussed around him and everyone else may be come supporting actors.

Its hard to say, but Bentley will be the guy who gets 3 assists, a goal and 5 bonus points in 10 games, while I think Petrov could go totally cold for an extended period, like he has and then pop up with a big haul.
