So Matt Every is 2 shots clear.........the obvious 3rd round sub choice?

Interesting quote from him at his press conference:

"Honestly man, I know more people who smoke marijuana than don't smoke marijuana. I know that's not the politically correct thing to say, but it's the truth"

Needless to say, it's not going down too well in the US

Remember, 3rd round subs to be done by 8pm tonight.

Every is just the bookies favourite, but I imagine the experience of Pettersson, Howell III, Stricker and even Bradley makes them far more reliable subs.

Pondering over whom to drop out of ZJ (-3) and Choi (-2), anyone watch this last night how did Choi shoot +3 :?

Yeah, saw most of it last night KJ was +3 for the round when the coverage started. Certainly missed 1 pretty short putt & just seemed a bit off generally. Hard to know with KJ.

More interesting was the Matt Every interview, not the usual polished, well thought out interview. Just plain weird !!!

If he gets that nervous on the course, he should be avoided as a 3rd round sub :P

This link is better. Even his answering of the first question is strange.

Well I brought him in anyway! :D
Def needs some media training.

Thought Kelly was out of order taking the discussion away from golf.

I agree, he simply wasn't expecting it........although I'm sure she was told to bring it up.

He should have just got up and walked!

He might be so annoyed by it that it really spurs him on.

He's certainly got the pedigree to go on and win, as a previous Nationwide Tour Championship winner and no. 1 US Amateur.

Hmm... Yes I dropped Choi instead of ZJ too :(

Tempted to Mulligan out ZJ but Every and Maggert hardly are proven winners when in contention, I guess the safe play most will go with will be Howell III but he is in my starting line up :)

Colin slipped down to 2nd overall, but still showing us lot a clean pair of heels!

Unexpected winner means scores were low this week :(

Good to see a fair few of you guys burning Mulligans :P , better luck next time!

Truly awful Humana Challenge for me!

For the week I came 122nd out of 125!

A case of the haves (Wilson owners) and the have nots this week:

It's a marathan not a sprint though, so don't get disheartened :)

With regard to using mulligans, I consider two things:

      1. How far clear is the leader?

      2. How badly are my 3 original picks doing?

Wilson being 3 clear and a proven winner was well worth considering.

But what swung it for me was my dire original picks - I was down for a grim week with both my teams unless I got lucky with a mulligan.

I notice this league's current leader has dropped a clanger this week.

He has named Jacobson (who withdrew days ago) as one of his starting players :?

That's one of the worst errors I have seen on fantasy golf for a long time!

Maybe he will bring in Overton as his sub! :)

Jacobson! Amazing clanger by the leader
This format of competition is quite forgiving in that respect though. Will cost no more of a penalty than (potentially), Mickelson owners (currently +5 thru 14) subbing for free after round 2 and of course, only x1 points for the replacement player.

Such Mickelson owners as those in High Stakes 1 League with $250 coming their way if they hold onto first this week

Good news is most of the top ten have Phil as well :P

Good to see the vast majority of us still active with our subs:

Not surprisingly Snedeker the most popular.

Mickelson and Crane let a few of us down. Every's +6 on the easy course was a shocker!

Good luck to MU #1 Fan in his attempt to win the 1st segment, a Snedeker win should just about seal it :D

This can be a very frustrating game! Last week I had both Haas & Stanley and I came almost last for the week!

At least if it was OFL I may have kept faith in them for another week.

Still I'm enjoying the competition a lot (its my first time playing this) and it seems very well run. Think I will also have a crack at the 'one and done' comp when the next league starts.

High Stakes 1

Mulligan out Howell III for Rollins or Haas to reinforce Stanley and Snedeker (short term decision for $250 section 1 prize), or keep as is for the longer term competition (and not potentially waste a Mulligan) :?:

Views most welcome :)

Hi MUF,

If I were one of your nearest 3 opponents; I would fire Watney out with a desperate attempt to claw back at you for the session. I'm guessing X1 Haas or Rollins will be coming at you from below.... If the replacements ger 3rd $$$ as it WAS last year, they would score $336k. If your C Howell III had a great day to get to 14th, he would earn X2 $104k.
In your position, I would make a preventative motion towards one of the X1 replacements to block being caught out.

I'm not however as good at this as you!!

Hi Exeter,

Thanks for your reply.

In the end decided spending a valuable Mulligan on either Haas or Rollins would be wasted given that second, in all liklihood, would be the best possible finish.

Will take a chance on how it pans out regarding the section prizes.

What an amazing finish. Stanley 3 up on the final tee, Snedeker already in clubhouse, wedge spun back into the water, 3 putts, for a triple bogey 8, and then losing the play off.

Will hurt anybody that brought Stanley in as their Saturday free-pick, without having Snedeker.

Stanley took a triple 8 at the 18th and lost on 2nd playoff hole to Snedeker!

Whilst watching the Arsenal FA Cup game earlier, I was online and made a little £2.50 E/W bet on Snedeker! Paid £88.34!!

Unlucky Colin, right decision, but looks like the guy in 6th will take the first session.

Exeter........you jammy up-start you!

Did feel sorry for Stanley, got an obscene amount of backspin on that approach :(

And then followed it by his first 3 putt in 60 holes

Yes I came 3rd and won a $25 free entry :|

On the other hand Snedeker winning made all the difference in High Stakes 1 where I won $250 and retained first place without the use of a Mulligan

Yes Stanley was very unlucky to spin it back into the water on 18, it nearly clung on to the bank 'Couples style', but he should have been long if anything with his approach as the lake was the only way he could lose.

McDowell's bunker shot on the 18th yesterday in Abu Dhabi was slightly more lucky :P

Difficult decisions to make this week, second picks for the favourites Simpson, Snedeker, Haas, Wilson, Laird; or start going with second tier first timers such as Rollins, Vijay, Points, Wagner etc :?
