Will be tougher to find the winner at The Shell Houston Open, surprised how many top players are not taking the week off before Augusta :?

Hmm.. Mulligan on Mickelson?

Current High Stakes 1 line up is Kim (ss) 5th, Molinari 57th and Leishman 65th. Only two have picked him this week (one of which dropped him!) so could be massive gain if selected and he wins, 6 of top 7 in league have picked him once. Would have to use another mulligan to pick him next week

Trickster & I are the only 2 who picked Baddeley as a starter in high stakes 1 so hoping for another win for him, wouldn't harm your chances either Man Utd Fan.

Got Stricker, Schwartzel & Kim (SS) in high stakes 3 so will just sit on that as using a mulligan here is too risky given the low scores players are shooting.

Decided not to risk a Mulligan on Mickelson, would in effect have cost me two Mulligans for a high risk chance at this week's purse, not worth it.

Did use up three Mulligans in other leagues though :P

So will everyone go Woods, Mickelson plus one other next week :?

In High stakes 3 I'm the only person in the top 15 with either Watney or Mahan :o
In High stakes 1 the highest place team who picked Mahan is 36th

High Stakes 1 Line-up:

Tiger -7 :D
Westwood -5 :)
Mickelson -2 :?

Simple question, Sat Sub Rory in for Phil or sit tight for another round (hoping Phil goes low or Rory high), accepting I may well have to Mulligan in Rory on Sunday?

Any views by 3pm very welcome :P

I have the same line up in 3 of my 4 teams and, having slept on it, I am sitting tight with Phil for another round for all 3.

Tricky one :?

Posted similar in the High Stakes Clubhouse

Two 65's for Phil?

Who knows!

I guess to make headway, those of us chasing need to keep the x 2 players, and hope they wind up 1-2-3 :P

Surely Rory is going to crash and burn, with Tiger/Wwood/Donald/Ogilvy/Fowler in chase?

Essential viewing tonight :D

Ogilvy :D Scott :D and Palmer :(

Difficult selection this week having 1st and 2nd in betting and the field being so grouped up.

Betting suggests Snedeker (-3), Hoffman (-3), Holmes (-1) or Sutherland (-3) hmm...

I guess the majority will go with Snedeker and Hoffman for their sat subs. Looking down the standings a Snedeker win would hurt me more than Hoffman, but Snedeker is more likely to place and Hoffman win given their histories when in contention.

Anyone watching this, guess it must be windy given the high scoring :?

Baddeley -4 :? , Furyk -8 :) , Fowler MC :(

2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th all have Poulter; would be a first time pick for me.

2nd and 4th have Day; again would be a first time pick.

6th, 8th, 9th and 11th have Donald; third time pick (and hence my final Mulligan).

Even if I think Donald will beat Poulter and Day, as the bookies do, the correct play for me may be Poulter :?

Only problem is if Donald then goes five clear after the 3rd round, I couldn't then bring him in as he would be a third time pick and and also 4th round Mulligan.

Any views?

I would not burn your last mulligan, its not clear cut enough. Probably cover your Poulter losses even though I think Day is more likely to win.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the added pressure of going to Number 1 if he wins might adversely effect Donald although hope it doesn't as he is in 3 of my teams.

Good luck, Horton :)

Donald is a machine on this course, think Furyk is the only one who might get to him.

Don't think I'd use my final mulligan though Colin.

Think Day might fall away, but hope not.

See Poulter wasn't too happy about Rob Bolton from PGATour.com calling him over-rated

He'll probably finish well because of it!

Logical pick of Watson this week as your sub MU Fan :)

The guy in first place picked Simpson ahead of Bubba, who he's not picked once yet

Must know something we don't!

What I do know is that Bubba set a new course record at Cardinal Country Club earlier in the week, another Pete Dye course, so he was always a fair bet to do well this week :)

Bubba +1 thru 6.

Simpson -5 after 9 holes, 3 strokes ahead of him in the lead

Interesting stats from the website on player usage.

Explains why not many chose Donald or Mickelson!

Image

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

If Watney pushes on, many in the top 20 won't be able to pick him

If Glover does, EVERYONE bar one can pick him

At the moment I'm the only person in the top 20 with either Glover or Mickelson

Really frustrating watching Mickelson last night, birdies :) , eagles :D , bogeys :( , double bogeys  all in equal measure.

Notice how most are keeping the world No. 1 back for the US Open

Are you planning to go out there and heckle him Colin?

No not planning to go out to the US Open :P

Could be a massive $3.5m week for me if Donald wins 8-)

This week's picks :

Donald -8 :) Crane L :| Scott +4 :(

Can't pick Watney, McDowell, Stricker, Mahan, Baddeley or Holmes; so am looking at my Sat Sub being either Toms -10, Glover -8, Love -7 or Karlsson / Sabbatini / Choi all -6.

Is Glover really back to Bethpage form as the last six rounds suggest, can Toms hold out with such a strong pack chasing?

Any views most welcome.

I have a feeling it will be Donald or Mahan, which doesn't help you much Colin!

Toms shouldn't hold on, but I thought he'd fade today :?

I have Glover as an initial pick, so he's doomed  and he's started missing fairways, which is not good.

Your main hope is Donald rather than either of those two, as they will be popular sub picks.

Think I would go for Toms, as other options seem to be too far back.

Good luck!

I find myself in the very unusual position of having all three golfers making the cut and semi in contention :

League 1 (2nd place) Cink -3, Baddeley -5, Moore -5

High Stakes 3 (4th place) McIlroy -6, Cink -3, Fowler -3

Unfortunately I can't bring Stricker (-9) into either team, so I question is it worth a Sat Sub and half earnings for a -6 player only three strokes ahead?

Maybe it is for Cink in one of the teams to hedge my bets?

Any views, this game is much simpler when one misses the cut!

Tricky one that MU Fan :?

Think I would prob leave both teams alone, thou I see the leader in League 1 has Stricker from the start

Maybe a gamble dropping Cink and picking a -6 or -5 he has already used twice might be worth a try?

Good luck!

Well played Trickster, Stricker and Kuchar from the start, but still not the best score for the week

Very tight at the top now, any of the top 5 have an excellent chance, best of luck Trickster!

And who knows, with a storming final two weeks even MU Fan might squeak it :P

And here's who the top 5 have used:

Quite a few Westwoods to be used up.

This week or next, that's the question?

Think I will need some very inspired picks to win from 7th place with no mulligans left, now who will be the McDowell and Havret at this year's US Open at Congressional

Good luck over the last two weeks Richard :)

Cheers Guys. Thanks for the support. :D :D

This game is so volatile there is still a long way to go. But it has definitely got my interest the last few weeks. I hadn't even had a winner from the start until Toms won the Crowne Plaza.

You never know MU Fan if you pick the St. Jude winner you could be right back in it. :)

Going in to last week of League 5 in 8th place, 2 million off the lead.

Can still use Kaymer, Casey, Schwartzel, Bubba, Jason Day, Poulter, Els, Karlsson, Quiros & Goosen and have an all important mulligan and could start with any golfer (have not used any 3 times yet).

Any advice would be appreciated. Would you use mulligan from start, or keep it to bring in leading golfer after 2nd round for single points ?

I was going to post this same question. I have the same dilemma in High Stakes 1 in 4th place with 1 mulligan left.

I have an even more limited list of golfers I could use than you.

Maybe in your situation I would go for the more aggressive play and use the mulligan right from the start. If you select well you win a good prize, if you select poorly you win nothing.
I think your most important move is to get a player or players in your lineup that you think will do well but those around you have used twice. I think you need to look through what the teams ahead have used and tried to get a differential as you are already over 2 million back.

Any players you fancy to do well who have been used twice by teams in the top 20 would be a good move.

Would welcome more advice on this as definitely not sure on this. :) :)

In League 3 & 4 I've already picked McIlroy twice, question is do I use a mulligan to bring him in as sub for a potential $1,260,000 or sub in Yang who if finishes 2nd will get $755,000 :?:

$505,000 the difference, is that worth a mulligan, if they finish as they are I don't think it is & it's possible Rory could falter again, don't really see Yang going away. Trouble is some have Rory as starter.

Just wondering what way previous prize winners living in the UK got paid their winnings. I clicked on the claim prize button and it appears that the winnings are mailed out.

Just wondering what people have done previously. Would Paypal be the best option, not sure what way that would be for Paypal fees ?

I'll be emailing the Commish but any advice appreciated.
