HOW IT WORKS

All 2 leg matches home & away until final.

Wks 32,34, last 16
Wks 35-36, QFs
Wks 37-38, SFs
Wk 39 Final
Wk 40 Final extra time & penalties (if required)

Away goals count in the event of a tie in a 2-legged match and then our standard convoluted tie-break rules (they only come in if the 2 legs have identical scores).

Date/week numbers subject to these being 'proper' full sets of Premier league fixtures etc etc.

The last 16 matches has group winners away to a runner up in first leg, no teams from same group can be drawn together. Later rounds are purely random draws done once the qualifiers are known.

LAST 16 DRAW

The group winners had the great honour of Kylie picking them as away teams in the first leg. The rest of you got the enhanced but inferior Danni.

Rookster v the prof
Big Bird v ColinH
bagpuss v bluenoseyparker
Jester v derbynige
mowatson v goldenballs
kizkiz v martin1tcf
forestfan v jonnyg
farmerbob v Spencer4

First legs to be played 20-21 March (Set 32)
Second legs to be played 27-29 March (Set 34)
NOTE - Set 33 does NOT count as it is not a 'proper' set.
subject to no more fixture shuffling

Doh! Now 12 - 14 down after first leg to Rookster. Typical Fulham - beat Juve but lose to Man City.##Prof.

10-7 to me so the comeback is on. Very nice 1-1 Chelsea prediction. You would have made a fair bit of cash betting on that scoreline.

Very good first leg Prof, as a student of the fine game, perhaps I can let you into a little secret. It is very common for English teams who win a Europa Cup tie on a Thursday to then go on to lose 2-1 on the Sunday. Therefore, Fulham and Liverpool were guaranteed to give me 6 points.

Good Luck in the return leg at The Rookster Bowl

the prof and I are all square at 7-7 in the second leg with Man City v Wigan to come so the prof needs to be spot on and hope that I am not.

Yes - a tie would put me through on away goals rule I think so if I get score right you need to as well. I'd rather be in your position though! Man City a very unpredictable these days so I think this one's a bit of a lottery ...

17-14 to me. A 1-1 draw means that Murf has to get his coin out. Both legs would be 10-7

2nd leg is currently bluenoseyparker 7 v 8 bagpuss

We've both gone 2-0 to Man City, so I need that scoreline to go through on away goals.

A draw or a Wigan win would be enough for bluenoseyparker (speaking as a Spurs fan - I genuinely wish you luck )

Any other City win would mean complicated tie-break rules that I'm too lazy to bother working out

As it is CL Stylee then that would be away goals.

Full results tomorrow.....

I think you win on 'away' goals as you were the away team in the first leg.

Congratulations , I knew you needed a three pointer tonight to do it, great play.
