Evans, of course. It seems Ferdinand is now fit and looks like he he slot back in next to Vidic, giving those of us with Evans a bit of a headache. Swap, maybe, for O'Shea ? Or even hang on too as Rio seems to be made of glass these days and may pick up another injury ? I'm also considering going 3-5-2 in a couple of teams. Evans to Dembele looks very appealing.

IMO Evans will get the odd game but Fergie will want to get Vidic and Rio partnership playing regular... I think I've now dropped him from all my FF teams, following Rio on Twitter has its benefits.

If Rio plays too much, his back will go again.

You may be right, but to me he's not worth keeping in your FF team for maybe 6 points every 3 games, I doubt Evan's will play the Prem games and Rio Europe - personally would love it as Evans is a great potential point scoring enabler.

I recall many either missing out on or dropping too early both Brown and O'Shea in seasons gone by on TFF because the perceived 1st choice in each position for Manyoo was 'back' only tfor them to break down again or be out of favour.

Until Rio starts and finishes without a hitch I won't be rushing to replace.

My perception (no evidence) is that defensive points are a bit tighter this year with the extra point. As a result there seems to be more value having a defender who is playing regularly in a relatively solid team. This year even Distin in my team has picked up points despite Everton conceding every week so far. I'd drop rather than wait for the next injury. Got to say that the fact Konchesky is the same price makes that decision a bit easier....

Can anyone state for sure the last time Rio played more than about 3 games in a row?

GW30-32 last season according to Brams table. Before that it was GW5-7.

I'm holding on the little Johnny for now. As stated above, SAF may need to handle Rio with kid gloves given that his injury record is right up there with Big Dunc and Darren Anderton

Rio only played 45 mins in the reserve game. I wonder if he could become another Woodgate. The back problem seemed pretty bad before his last injury. Evans might miss out to Everton, which might be a good thing if ManU lose and Vidic is not exactly always fit either.

Even if Rio starts a few games, chances are Evans will still pick up a few O'Shea's as it's unlikely Rio would play that many full games after such a lenghty period of injuries.

I think it may now be time to get rid. SSN saying Rio will start. Even if he doesn't I've got a feeling Liverpool will score. I also need to accommodate Dembele somehow.

I wondered this BUT if Ferguson was planning on dropping Evans then why rest him in midweek (played Smalling alongside Rio didn't he?)

Rio out again so Evans starts.

I think it might be time to roll him off. Evans has had an awful start to the season, bullied by Zamora, Cahill and now Davies. Opposing managers telling their physical players to get alongside him and win headers? Rio will start to get some league games, Smalling has looked good in the couple he's played. But I'd look across the city to Kompany as a nice equal priced alternative.

International break notwithstanding, Evans  Kompany on Sunday is a tempter.

It's Kolarov, Toure, Kompany, Boateng. Not much debate about that in my opinion. Spelling mistake corrected.
