For the 128 of you that have joined (minus the 17 who are guaranteed a Prem place and are sitting with their feet up for the first three weeks), I hope the pre-qualifying period has started well for you!

Some big names there yet to sign-up, hope they've merely forgotten. Not that recycling is a bad thing in itself. What will happen regarding Division 3 now that there are so many teams? Split D3?

I definitely won't be making any more divisions than last year's Prem-1-2-3-4, most likely is there'll just be bigger divisions (with proportionally more promotions/relegations). Probably will even expand the Prem slightly from 20 teams (which has been fixed for the past X years) - which would mean there's more to play for in pre-qualifying!

I'll confirm precise numbers for each division when I know the final total of entrants on the deadline of the 27th. Then everyone should go into the final weekend of pre-qualifying knowing how many places are on offer.

I meant to post at the weekend but was otherwise occupied (flat hunting!), so here it is now: Entries are now closed (for allocations of divisions to start in; anyone can join throughout the season but only in Division 4).

There are 134 entrants, so I'm going to split the divisions as follows:

Prem - 22 teams
Div 1 - 26 teams
Div 2 - 26 teams
Div 3 - 30 teams
Div 4 - 30 teams

Who gets in what division to begin, is based on your qualifying score, subject to the guarantee to start at least where you finished in 09/10 if you played the game. Your 'qualifying score' is your current FPL score after 3 GWs, plus your 'headstart' you were given based on last year's performance. Headstarts were calculated as 0.1*(last year's total score - 2000) + 10*(number of divisions above D4 which you finished last year's div champs).

I'll work all the qualifying scores out and start the main season's thread before GW4, most likely next week sometime

Despite my relatively good start, I'll be flabagasted if I'm not in D4 considering my 'performance' at the end of last season.

The letter/number in brackets after your name shows your guaranteed starting league (league you ended last season). Dotted lines show how the divisions would have split based purely on the headstart order.

So Tacalabala you only had to make up 11 points on the field in GWs 1-3 to rise a division. I think there's been a greater spread of scores up to GW3 this season than the same period in past years, so you could have a good chance.

That list is simply everyone's headstart score taken from their 09/10 score. This is:

+0.1 per point over 2000 that you scored last season
and then:
+10 if you ended last year's Div Champs in Div 3
+20 if you ended last year's Div Champs in Div 2
+30 if you ended last year's Div Champs in Div 1


Divisions will be created (sometime next week when I have more time) based on your qualifying score = (Headstart) + (first 3 weeks' points this season).
